Dog Breed Reveal Party Delights Internet: '100 Percent Good Boy'

Ancestry tests for humans are fairly common, but did you know you can get one for your pup as well? A dog owner has melted hearts on social media after sharing a glimpse of their fur baby's celebratory breed reveal party.

In a TikTok post shared on April under the username sassysamueel, the poster, the pup, and their family and friends can be seen gathered around the TV, ready to play out the results of the breed test.

They can be heard counting down before the screen reveals the breakdown of the pup's ancestry, which includes 22.9 percent chihuahua DNA, 14.2 percent Australian shepherd, 14.1 percent American pit bull terrier, and 12.6 percent Labrador retriever.

The heartwarming clip comes with a caption that says: "Knew he would be Mexican like his daddy."

Besides determining the genetic makeup of a dog, canine DNA can also be used for other reasons, including medical ones. According to the American Kennel Club, genetic testing can even be used to help detect inherited diseases.

These tests can also help reveal some of your dog's inner traits, both physical and behavioral. Your dog may carry the genes for another color or pattern, or may have a predisposition to certain personality traits, such as separation anxiety.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 4.5 million views and 914,900 likes on the platform.

One user, Megan Wallace, commented: "And obviously 100 percent good boy." And Madison wrote: "The way you look back each time like Yeeahhhh that's my son."

Grace said: "Lmaoo the way I was thinking of doing this for my 30th bday this year with my friends since I'm adopted." And user62196438 added: "I love millennials! So cute and we are so happy about the little things."

Mikey Pooh wrote: "After five years, I did the Embark test only to find out my poodle is 50% poodle, 50% bischon. PaoPao is from Shanghai, but they found a cousin in Hong Kong named Einstein."

Nicole Nightfall said: "The fact there's so many people in your life this excited about your dog's DNA is simply the cutest thing ever! You're so blessed!"
