Pro-Trump 'Gucci Granny' Rap Video Sparks Flood of Memes, Jokes

A video posted by the "Mayor Of Magaville" YouTube account titled and performed by "Gucci Granny" has sparked an avalanche of memes and jokes on social media.

The video, which features the braggadocious and jewelry-studded Gucci Granny rapping over a beat and surrounded by pals, was posted to YouTube on Saturday.

Among numerous "MAGA" shoutouts in the video, the rapper also issues a plea for Republican front-runner Donald Trump within her lyrics:

"If you goin' woke, we're not the same-same. They thought I left my lights on, it was my chain-chain. Call the fireman, granny's spittin' flame-flame. Now wipe me down and put me on the campaign," she raps.

The two-minute video has led to plenty of comments on social media.

On a reply to a post by the Patriot Takes account on X, formerly Twitter, a commenter replied: "Gucci Granny is going to charge her grandkids rent for living in the basement."

Another commenter stated, "MAGA's got a new rapper, "Gucci Granny"? Can't wait for her mixtape: "Medicare Bars & Social Security Spits." Now that's fresh off the senior center's top charts!"

Another stated, simply, "Their answer to Taylor Swift?"

The Chuds of TikTok account posted, "This may be the absolute worst thing I have ever heard since Lara Trump covered "I won't back down" by Tom Petty."

A comment on Forgatio Blow's post promoting the video offered some constructive criticism: "I like this I really do. I love the whole group of yas, but we gotta stop selling these elite brands like gucci and back our own american brands. There are 100s of companies that sell dope, fresh **, mint, gear made entirely in the US."

The Mayor of Magaville YouTube account has 117,000 subscribers and has posted over 600 pro-Trump videos. The channel is owned by South Floridian Kurt Jantz, who goes by the rap name of "Forgiato Blow." He also refers to himself as "Donald Trump's nephew."

Newsweek reached out to Jantz via email for additional comment about the new video and his music.

Jantz claims to be the pioneer of the "MAGA rap" genre. Many of the songs and videos on the account highlight conservative figures such as Mike Flynn, Roger Stone, members of the Proud Boys, and Trump.

Music by Jantz and his friends also delves into culture war topics. A Forgiato Blow song, "Boycott Target," reached the top of the iTunes chart in May of 2023. In July, Jantz teamed up with Marjorie Taylor Greene for a video and song called "MTG."

Jantz posts videos on the YouTube account giving his take on political figures and topics. Jantz is the grandson of Auto-Trader magazine founder Stuart Arnold.
