Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Amid swirling rumors regarding Tammy Slaton's relationship with Haley Michelle, she took to social media to set the record straight.

Slaton treated her followers to a TikTok showcasing her girls' trip with Michelle and their friend Paola Román on Monday, April 29. Cutting straight to the chase, she chose the track "Friends" by Marshmello and Anne-Marie as the backdrop, with the lyrics spelled out on screen: "F-R-I-E-N-D-S / We're just friends / So don't go look at me with that look in your eye."

Followers have been suspicious of their relationship because Michelle, who calls herself the "Paranormal Princess", has made a recent surge on Tammy's Instagram.

"Spiritual Sisters, our powerful connection we don't have to explain anything to anyone. You are my Best Friend 💙," Slaton captioned a photo of herself and Michelle hugging by a lake last week.

Not only were some fans convinced there was a romantic aspect of their relationship, but others were attempting to warn Slater that Michelle was using her for "clout".

"She's using you to get on your show!!!," one user wrote in the Instagram comments. Another said, "Oh man, it's always so creepy to see people being used who are too vulnerable to know better. This chick is bad news."

Another person said, "It's giving super exploitative vibes. This is such a sketchy thing."

The start of the romance rumors may come from Slaton's candid discussions about her fluid sexuality. "I'm a supporter of everybody," Slaton shared in a TikTok video in January, responding to a commenter who asked if she was apart of the LGBTQIA+ community. "Well, I was saying I was pansexual but I kinda stopped messing with guys after my husband passed."

She's referring to the death of her husband, Caleb Willingham, who passed away in June 2023.

She continued in the TikTok: "Love is love. Everybody deserves love whether they're gay, straight, trans, pan, bi, nonbinary [or] whatever. I'm just a lover."
