More people went on to compliment Slaton. "Such an amazing transformation! Wow!! 🤩," one said. Another wrote, "You should be so proud of your accomplishments!! I'm so happy for you. Hope you have a long, healthy, beautiful life!"

Slaton embarked on her weight loss journey following a severe health crisis that left her struggling to breathe. Placed on a ventilator and induced into a medically induced coma, her condition was dire, prompting her sister Amanda Halterman to fear the worst, as she even said they were "facing making funeral arrangements."

However, following this incident, through rehab, she shed an impressive 115 pounds in just 30 days. Building on her progress, she eventually became a candidate for bariatric surgery, undergoing the procedure in July 2022.

In total, she has lost 440 pounds, down from her highest weight of 725. "Just being able to walk without a walker or be pushed in a wheelchair, and no oxygen. I don't even sleep with it at night anymore," she told People in December 2023. "Then it was being able to fit in a regular vehicle, front seat, and then the belt buckle, and not have to use an extender now. So I mean, just what seems minor to some people is giant for me."
