A woman weighing 300 pounds has pleaded guilty to the third-degree murder of her 120-pound boyfriend after admitted suffocating him by sitting on his chest.

Windi Thomas, 44, of Erie, Pennsylvania, now faces 18 to 36 years in jail when she is sentenced for killing 44-year-old Keeno Butler at the couple's home in March.

Thomas was originally due to face trial for the killing on December 10, but struck a deal with prosecutors when appearing at a court at Erie County court on December 3.

"It's a good result based upon the facts of the case," Thomas' court-appointed lawyer, Mark Del Duca, told Go Erie. "I think it's fair for both sides."

Thomas told police that she attacked Butler on March 18 after the pair had got into an argument. She said she cut his hand with a folding knife before beating him on the head with a table leg. She also admitted to pinning him to the ground using her body weight and essentially suffocating him, reports Your Erie.

Thomas then dialed 911 to report that she had inadvertently killed him.

In the affidavit of probable cause, investigators wrote that "Thomas weighs approximately 300 pounds and Butler weighed approximately 120 pounds," reports Go Erie.

The affidavit concludes that Butler's death was ruled a homicide "caused by respiratory insufficiency secondary to blunt force trauma to the neck and thoracic compression, exacerbated by blunt force trauma to the head."

At the time, Thomas told police she had been drinking and was hoping to buy crack cocaine shortly before she got into the confrontation with Butler, reported Erie News Now.

The victim's sister, Sandra Butler, wants Thomas to serve more than the 18 to 36-year recommended sentence which was agreed following her guilty plea.

"I feel like she should have 40 or more," she told Go Erie. "She deserved life."

Thomas will remain in Erie County Prison without bond till she is sentenced on December 21.

In an obituary published via The Meadville Tribune, Butler was described as someone who will be remembered as "full of love, energy and had a smile that would light up a room."

"He enjoyed pets, music, dancing and working," the obit added. "The greatest part of Keeno's life was when he was with his family, especially his daughter and grandchildren. He was loved by many."
