420 Deals: Lyft, Pizza Hut and More Specials on Weed's Biggest Holiday

People all across America will celebrate marijuana's biggest holiday, 4/20, on Saturday, and a number of businesses are helping cannabis enthusiasts and supporters enjoy the plant's day of recognition.

It's believed 4/20 was started by a group of California teens who would regularly smoke marijuana at 4:20 p.m. As their ritual spread among others, the code 420 was born and used as a way for folks to identify themselves as marijuana-friendly, as the plant is technically viewed by the federal government as a Schedule 1 illicit drug.

Now that marijuana has been legalized recreationally and medicinally in a number states across the country, many people use 4/20, or April 20, as a day to celebrate the milestones the plant has made in legislation while advising and advocating on the many barriers that still need to break in regards to some views on cannabis.

A few retailers in the U.S. are helping folks get their point across by participating in the 4/20 celebration on Saturday. Various businesses will offer discounts, specials and deals in honor of 4/20. See the full list of participating companies below.

Pizza Hut: One of the most common side effects of marijuana is developing a case of the munchies. The plant has natural components that naturally triggers the appetite. Pizza Hut is offering a tasty remedy for sudden hunger pangs celebrators may suffer from on 4/20 with their signature Hershey's Triple Chocolate Brownie. The pizza company will tack on the brownie to any order for just an additional $4.20 on 4/20 only.

Lyft: The driver service in Massachusetts knows people will likely be under the influence on 4/20 particularly since it's the first time the state will celebrate the holiday since recreational dispensaries began legal sale of products last November. To help keep the streets safe, Lyft is offering rides to users for just $4.20 all day on Saturday.

Carl's Jr: The burger joint in Denver, Colorado will make history this 4/20 when it becomes the first fast food restaurant to offer a burger infused with CBD, or cannabidiol, the non-psychoactive ingredient found in marijuana. Another perk, it's only priced at $4.20 for the day.

Boston Market: The restaurant will offer two rotisserie chicken pot pies for the price of one on 4/20, because when is one chicken pot pie ever enough?

Wing Zone: Anyone who likes/comments on Wing Zone's social media posts on 4/20 will have the chance to win a giveaway, including one that's offering 10 boneless wings and mac-n-cheese bites for $10.

Dos Toros: If you go in the Mexican fast-food restaurant on 4/20 and say, "Half baked," to the cashier you'll have the chance of purchasing nachos for just $4.20, instead of the usual $8.99 price point.

Ike's Love & Sandwiches: Locations across California are offering three of the chain's signature sandwiches for just $4.20 on 4/20, including the Matt Cain, Menage a Trois and Sometimes I'm Vegetarian.
