49ers Wide Receiver's Agent Denies Trade Request Rumors

San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk's rumors about requesting a trade are false. His agent, Ryan Williams, took to social media to dispel the notion that Aiyuk requested a trade this offseason. Williams responded to a post by saying, "You need better sources."

This news comes after Aiyuk unfollowed the 49ers' Instagram page. The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and has been adamant about wanting an extension with the Niners. He expressed his desire to get paid when he appeared on the Nightcap podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson last month.

"I'm trying to get what I deserve," Aiyuk said. "I feel like this season, this season playing football, I figured out who I was as a person and a player, what I bring to the table, what I bring to the locker room, what I bring to the organization. And just the value I hold when I walk in that building. People going to follow me because I've done it the right way since I've been in that building. From the first day I walked in there to when I was in there earlier this morning. I've done it the right way. If they don't see the worth in that [makes a walking motion with hands], that's all it is. It ain't nothing else besides that. I can't get into it. We got professionals working on both sides, so hopefully, we can come to a professional agreement and continue playing professional football."

San Francisco general manager John Lynch said last month that they are "actively talking with Brandon trying to figure something out."

"We have a good history of working with the guys we want to get done to get something done and it takes two sides," he continued. "So, can we do that? We'll see. There's a number of different directions that it could go but we appreciate the heck out of Brandon and who he is as a player, and we want him to be a part of the Niners. We're going to work towards making that a reality."

However, once those comments were made public, Aiyuk called BS, posting this on his Instagram story, and responded to Lynch's comments.

Whether a trade request will come is up to Aiyuk and his team. Currently, the star wide receiver is a member of the 49ers and will look to get that Super Bowl they so desperately desire.
