ABC Midseason Schedule: New and Returning Shows and Changes to 'The Rookie'

As the festive season approaches, networks are preparing their midseason schedules, with ABC revealing its 2022-2023 line-up on Monday.

Fans of the network will have a number of new shows to enjoy in 2023, while the premiere dates for returning programs have also been confirmed. Here is everything you need to know.

From January 2023, ABC will have a number of new shows on the slate including The Company You Keep, The Parent Test, Not Dead Yet, and Will Trent.

Meanwhile, the network will also continue to feature its usual slate of series, with viewers' favorites like The Rookie and Abbott Elementary returning, though some will be moving nights.

The Rookie and The Rookie: Feds will be moving from Sunday nights to Tuesdays, with both returning on Tuesday, January 3. The Rookie will air at 8 p.m. ET and its spin-off will be released straight after, at 9 p.m. ET, followed by new crime drama Will Trent which stars Ramón Rodríguez.

Milo Ventimiglia's new heist drama The Company You Keep premieres at 10 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, after American Idol's return to the network at 8 p.m.

Celebrity Jeopardy will have a new temporary time-slot at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, January 5 alongside The Parent Test and The Chase, before ABC's usual Thursday line-up of Grey's Anatomy, Station 19 and Alaska Daily returns on February 23.

The Parent Test is a reality series that follows 12 families, and it will have a special series premiere at 10 p.m. on Thursday, December 15 before the show enters its official timeslot from January 5.

Abbott Elementary will return to ABC on Wednesday, January 4 at 9 p.m. ET, while new episodes of The Conners and The Goldbergs will air back-to-back from Wednesday, January 11.

The Good Doctor returns on Monday, January 23 at 10 p.m. ET after The Bachelor airs at 8 p.m., while Gina Rodriuez's new show Not Dead Yet premieres with two episodes on Wednesday, February 8.
