Aleister Black Returns to NXT But Attacker Still Remains a Mystery

It finally happened! Former NXT Champion Aleister Black returned to NXT and seemingly found out who attacked him from Nikki Cross.

During the main event of the Oct. 17 episode of NXT between Cross and Bianca Bel Air, the lights went out and Black appeared in the middle of the ring. He calls Cross over and says, "tell me." Nikki whispers in his ear (presumably with the name of his attacker) and crawls out of the ring. Black is left in the ring visibly upset when the cameras go off.

For weeks, Nikki Cross teased that she knew who attacked Aleister Black before NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV. While NXT General Manager William Regal and the rest of the superstars didn't believe her, at the start of this week's episode Regal said he would have to talk to her about her claims after Nikki's match.

Aleister Black was attacked on NXT television a few weeks before NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV on Aug. 18 where he was set to face Johnny Gargano and NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa in a Triple Threat match.

The attack forced Black out of the Triple Threat, leading to Gargano and Ciampa having a No Disqualification match in the main event with Ciampa coming out on top.

In the weeks following Takeover, Regal launched an investigation to find the culprit, but has yet to determine exactly who did it. Ciampa has been the target of finger pointing from others in the locker room including Velveteen Dream.

NXT Takeover: War Games is set for Nov. 17, and Regal confirmed he will announce the NXT Championship match for the event on the Oct. 24 episode. With Black returning, will he be involved since he never received his rematch?

We'll have to wait and see if we learn who Aleister Black's attacker is next week. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
