'Elvis' Soundtrack: All the Songs by Presley, Doja Cat and More in the Film

Elvis may tell the story of Presley's life but the film is not all about the King of Rock and Roll.

Starring Austin Butler as the iconic musician, the film follows Elvis as he is taken under the wing of Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks) and the control the manager had on his life.

Surprisingly, rather than go down the traditional route of a singer's biopic by only including the musician's greatest hits—like Bohemian Rhapsody or Rocketman— Elvis has the likes of Doja Cat and Eminem on the soundtrack.

Here is everything you need to know about the music featured in the film.

Given Elvis was directed by the creator of Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet, it shouldn't really come as a surprise that the film features modern songs of all genres to complement Elvis' iconic discography.

Songs like "Suspicious Minds," "Trouble" and "Hound Dog" feature on the soundtrack, with versions sung by Elvis and Butler in the film.

Several of Elvis' hit tracks were also remixed for the soundtrack, including "I Got A Feelin' In My Body" and "Don't Fly Away."

These are then juxtaposed by Eminem and CeeLo Green's "The King and I," Doja Cat's "Vegas," Stevie Nicks and Chris Isaak's "Cotton Candy Land," and a remix of Elvis' "Power of My Love" featuring Jack White.

Butler reflected on the eclectic soundtrack in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying of the director's vision: "Baz has music at the core of his soul. He's a brilliant orchestrator of music, and I'm excited about all the ways in which he's using that to weave through the soundtrack and appeal to an audience of all ages."

Alton Mason, who portrays Little Richard, also told the publication: "The music overlay reflects the past, the present, and the future.

"You get Doja Cat, you hear some rap, you hear some trap, and then you go all the way to the 1950s with B.B. King and Little Richard and Rosetta Tharpe. That made it new, but also paid homage to where it all originated from."
