'American Horror Story: Apocalypse' Spoilers: What Will Happen in Episode 2?

Humanity is literally on the brink of failure on the second episode of American Horror Story Apocalypse—or at least, that's what Michael Langdon (Cody Fern), the Cooperative representative (aka the anti-Christ) believes. In the trailer for Wednesday's episode, he warns the small group of people living in Outpost 3 that the world above ground has "descended into a living hell." From the looks of the 40-second clip, it certainly looks like it.

The wealthy Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt, Mr. Gallant and his grandmother Evie, along with the genetically superior prodigies Timothy Campbell and Emily, are shacked up in the bunker away from the madness that seems to be taking over the world above them. That doesn't necessarily mean they are out of harm's way. Evil lives underground too. In "The Morning After," the residents will likely get their first taste of it.

Read on for the three biggest spoilers for American Horror Story: Apocalypse episode 2 below.

Earth actually looks like a living hell

Outside of the bunker, the world is suffering from massive bombings. Smog fills the air, militiamen are dressed in masked-suits, people are eating other people and there are more explosions on the way. The woman in charge of Outpost 3, Ms. Wilhemina Venable (Sarah Paulson), views the horror ensuing on the world above as a prime opportunity. "It's our world now, to remold as we see fit," she says in the clip. Of course, remolding the world won't come without Outpost 3 residents having to learn how to behave in Venable's new society and the way she slaps Coco in the trailer hints violence will often be her first resort in teaching them.

Witches are coming

For months AHS showrunners and cast members have hinted at the return of a few familiar faces, particularly the witches of AHS Season 3's Coven. Finally, the mystics will make their grand debut in episode 2. Supreme witch Cordelia Good (Paulson), along with Myrtle Snow (Frances Conroy) and Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts), is spotted walking the halls of Outpost 3, which means they're likely seeking asylum among the anti-Christ and his minions.

Rubber Man returneth

It's been a long time since AHS fans have seen Tate Langdon (Evan Peters) in his Rubber Man suit, but a quick glimpse of the Season 1 ghost dressed in all black latex revealed his timely return in the upcoming episode. It was Tate, the ghost of a mass murderer, who was dressed as Rubber Man when he sexually assaulted Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton) in AHS: Murder House, resulting in the birth of the demon child Michael. So perhaps episode 2 will feature a creepy family reunion of some sort.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse airs on FX on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET.
