Angelina Jolie 'Rushed to a Bomb Shelter' in Ukraine, Video Shows

A video of actress Angelina Jolie in Lviv has gone viral as it appears to show her and a group of people fleeing to a bomb shelter.

Jolie was visiting the western Ukrainian city of Lviv on Saturday and meeting people displaced by war with Russia, according to a Reuters report.

The video has been viewed over 180,000 times on Twitter since it was posted on Saturday.

Bellingcat journalist Christo Grozev posted the video on his page and captioned it "Angelina Jolie had to be rushed to a bomb shelter as air-raid sirens went off in Lviv."

Newsweek has not been able to independently verify when the video was taken or whether the actress and her group were indeed running for safety to a bomb shelter.

The Reuters report said the actress, who is also a special envoy for the United Nations refugee agency, had her trip interrupted due to air-raid sirens sounding.

In the video, Jolie can be seen walking briskly with a group of people out of a building into the street. At one point, a woman turns to the person recording and says to them "no more."

Throughout the clip an air-raid siren can be heard. At one point in the brief footage, a man can be seen walking up to the actress in an attempt to get a selfie.

A voice can also be heard asking Jolie if she is afraid to which she replied no and added that she was okay.

During her visit, Jolie said said how negatively the conflict must be impacting the children that have been displaced.

"They must be in shock... I know how trauma affects children, I know just having somebody show how much they matter, how much their voices matter, I know how healing that is for them," Jolie said as she noted that there was a psychiatrist on duty to speak to the children.

In March, Jolie also visited Rome to go to a hospital that was caring for children who had fled the conflict in Ukraine, according to a Sky News report.

During her trip, the actress spoke to young patients and met with doctors and nurses who were caring for the children.

According to the Humanitarian aid organization UNICEF, as of April 21, more than 5.1 million refugees had fled Ukraine, around half of them children, since Russia invaded the country.

UNICEF has added that millions more have been displaced within the country and this could have long-lasting consequences for future generations.
