Apple chief executive Tim Cook has described films about the company's co-founder Steve Jobs as "opportunistic."
In an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert broadcast on Tuesday, Cook, who recently launched a new suite of Apple products including the iPhone 6s, said that Jobs was an "amazing human being" with an "uncanny ability to see around the corner."
Several films about the late Apple chief executive Jobs, who died from cancer in 2011, are currently out or due for release soon. Danny Boyle's biopic Steve Jobs, released in the U.S. in October, was branded "unsentimental in its portrayal of Jobs" by The Guardian. Another documentary, titled Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine, which is already available online in the U.S., was described as a "deeply unflattering" portrait of Jobs by U.S. culture magazine Variety.
Cook, who said he hadn't seen either film, said: "He was a joy to work with and I love him dearly. I miss every day. I think that a lot of people are trying to be opportunistic and I hate this. It's not a great part of our world."
The Apple chief's view differed from that of Steve Wozniak, who co-founded the multi-billion dollar technology company with Jobs. Wozniak, who acted as a consultant to Boyle's film, said in an interview with the BBC that he was "shocked and amazed at how good it was in the sense of professional filmmaking."
On The Late Show, Cook also refused to be drawn on whether Apple was working on driverless car technology, despite speculation from Uber chief executive Travis Kalanick.
