Since Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson got together in May, the couple's relationship has moved quickly. After they posted photos of themselves in Harry Potter–themed attire on Instagram, fans of the two were convinced of their relationship.
Following that post, the couple has been together nearly nonstop, it seems. They have supported each other publicly: Davidson went to Grande's concerts and introduced her onstage at the listening sessions for her new album. She went to Syracuse, New York, to be with Davidson while he was filming a movie.
In addition to moving in together in a New York City apartment and getting a pet pig, the engaged couple has also made a few more permanent commitments to one another: matching tattoos.
Here are their five matching tattoos and the meanings behind each one:
Mille tendresse: This is the most recent matching tattoo the couple got, likely sometime in September. Grande already had the tattoo; she got it on the base of her neck in 2014. It reads mille tendresse, meaning "a thousand tendernesses." Photos of Davidson recently appeared with the phrase visible on the back of his neck as well.
8418: This one has to do with someone near and dear to Davidson. His father, who was a New York City firefighter, died on 9/11. Davidson had his father's badge number, 8418, tattooed on his forearm, and Grande got the numbers added to her ankle.
Cloud: This was one of the first tattoos fans noticed. Grande's new fragrance is shaped like a cloud and also called "Cloud," possibly the inspiration for the pair to get matching cloud tattoos on their fingers.
H2GKMO: This tattoo stands for Grande's frequent phrase, "honest to god, knock me out." She and Davidson got the tattoo along with a friend. A since-deleted Instagram post on Davidson's account showed that he also got the tattoo.
Reborn: A fan on Twitter pointed out this tattoo, which was spotted in Grande's story on Instagram. Grande's is on her hand, and Davidson has his on his thumb.
Davidson has some other tattoos that are all about her. He has her initials on his finger and her last name along his rib cage, along with the dangerous woman symbol behind his ear and a tattoo of their pet pig on his ribs. Grande has Davidson's name, "Pete," on her ring finger in delicate writing.
