Ariana Grande stepped out publicly for the first time since her breakup from Pete Davidson was rumored Sunday. She covered a visible reference to Davidson on her finger. A tattoo reading "pete" on her ring finger was covered with a bandage as the singer performed a song from the Broadway show Wicked for the filming of A Very Wicked Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years On Broadway. The bandage is visible in a photo posted by TMZ.

Davidson has not acknowledged the breakup but canceled a comedy performance scheduled for Wednesday evening at Temple University, according to TMZ. Grande vaguely addressed the split on her Instagram account Tuesday night.

"Time to say bye bye again to the internet for just a little bit," she posted on her Instagram story. "It's hard not to bump news and stuff that I'm not trying to see right now. It's very sad and we're all trying very hard to keep going. Love you. And thank you for being here always."

Davidson and Grande were engaged in June after a few weeks of dating. The reason for their split is unknown, though some have reported it has to do with the death of Grande's ex-boyfriend, rapper Mac Miller, who died of an apparent overdose in September. Davidson and Grande were engaged just a month after Grande and Miller broke up.

Grande had expressed the relationship with Miller was "toxic" given his substance abuse issues, according to Entertainment Tonight. "How absurd you minimize female self-respect and self-worth by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them," she wrote to a Twitter user who claimed Grande was the cause of Miller's May DUI and arrest. "I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be. I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years."

Since their engagement in June, Grande and Davidson have acquired a collection of matching tattoos. The tattoo Grande covered on Tuesday is echoed on Davidson's finger, where he has her initials, AG, tattooed. Both of the celebrities have an "H2GKMO", which stands for Grande's favorite phrase "Honest to God knock me out," according to Cosmopolitan.

The couple has matching cloud tattoos and the number 8418, which refers to Davidson's firefighter father who died in 9/11, appears on both of them. Davidson also has "Grande" tattooed down his ribcage and a bunny ear tattoo reminiscent of Grande's dangerous woman album cover, though in recent days it appears to have been covered by a hard next to an "A."

Grande also has a ribcage tattoo from Davidson, as the word "always" appears under her breast. It's allegedly written in Davidson's handwriting.
