Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are both in action in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open on Tuesday, with world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty also looking for a spot in the semifinals.
Federer's bid for a third triumph in Melbourne in four years remained alive as he came from behind to defeat Hungary's Marton Fucsovics 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 on Sunday.
Having lost the opening set, the Swiss rallied over the next two sets, winning seven consecutive games in the process, before breaking Fucsovics twice in the decider.
It took the 38-year-old over four hours to defeat Australia's John Millman in a five-set marathon in the third round, but Federer suggested fitness was not a concern.
"I'm sure I'm going to feel better every day that goes by," he told reporters after defeating Fucsovics. "I had a good start to the second set and from then on it got a little bit easier."
Federer will play Tennys Sandgren in the quarterfinals after the American defeated No. 12 seed Fabio Fognini 7-6 (7-5), 7-5, 6-7 (2-7), 6-4 in the previous round.
Federer and Sandgren are scheduled to be on court not earlier than 2:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday (10:30 p.m. ET on Monday night) and their match will be followed by Novak Djokovic taking on Milos Raonic at 7 p.m. local time (3 a.m. ET on Tuesday).
The world No. 2 and the bookmakers' favorite, Djokovic took just over two hours to dispatch Argentina's Diego Schwartzman, the No. 14 seed, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in the fourth round.
The defending champion will face Canada's Milos Raonic, the No. 32 seed, who defeated 2018 finalist Marin Cilic 6-4, 6-3, 7-5.
Djokovic is well aware of the challenges Raonic will pose. "This will be a different match-up to the one today," he explained.
"Raonic is one of tallest and strongest players. He's also got one of biggest serves. I'm ready for missiles. One of the key elements will be how well I'm returning. It's good to see Milos healthy. He's a great guy and good friend."
In the women's tournament, all attention will be focused on Ashleigh Barty, who looks to reach the quarterfinals at her home tournament for only the second time.
The world No. 1 takes on two-time Grand Slam winner Karolina Pliskova in the day's second match at the Rod Laver Arena.
Barty dropped her first of the tournament against No. 18 Alison Riske in the quarterfinals, but rallied to defeat the American 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.
Meanwhile, after defeating Coco Gauff 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-0 Sofia Kenin, the world No. 15, takes on Tunisia's Ons Jabeur in the opening quarterfinal.
The latter had never progressed past the third round of a Grand Slam tournament before, but has already accounted for No. 27 seed Qiang Wang and former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki.

Quarterfinals start time
The quarterfinals of the Australian Open get underway at 11 a.m. local time on Tuesday morning.
However, because of the 16-hour difference between Melbourne and the east coast of the U.S., that means matches get underway at 7 p.m. ET on Monday evening.
TV channel
The Australian Open is broadcast exclusively across ESPN channels, with ESPN2 carrying the bulk of the tournament. Coverage begins at 9 p.m. ET on Monday and runs until 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
A replay will be available on ESPN2 between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday.

World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty is a 3/1 favorite to win the women's tournament, with Simona Halep at 7/2 and Petra Kvitova at 5/1 respectively.
