Avengers: Endgame landed in theaters Thursday night with a surprise list of unexpected cameo appearances by actors playing characters from the Marvel universe and beyond. An entire list of characters who appear in the film—and those who don't—surfaced on Reddit Thursday by user spanish-thumb in the thread r/MarvelStudioSpoilers.
The list is broken into a few categories: characters who were known to live after Avengers: Infinity War, those revived after being turned to dust and even some who appear through time travel. The list also names a set of actors who do not appear as key roles, but rather as complementary characters in scenes.
The biggest surprises in the repertoire of characters were Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, Sorcerer Supreme, played by Tilda Swinton and Peggy Carter, played by Hayley Atwell.
An extensive list of characters visit through time travel. The list is as follows:
- Crossbones/Brock Rumlow
- Jasper Sitwell
- Alexander Pierce
- Jack Rollins
- Ancient One
- Loki
- Howard Stark
- Edwin Jarvis
- Peggy Carter
- Frigga
- Jane Foster
- Gamora
- Ebony Maw
- Cull Obsidian
- Proxima Midnight
- Corvus Glaive
- Sorcerer Supreme
There are also a handful of characters who have been revived after having previously been turned to dust by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. The list includes:
- Black Panther
- Shuri
- Spider-Man
- Doctor Strange
- Scarlet Witch
- Falcon
- Winter Soldier
- Star-Lord
- Drax
- Groot
- Mantis
- Wasp
- Hank Pym
- Janet van Dyne
- Nick Fury
- Maria Hill
- Laura Barton and family
Quick Cameos in the film include featured moments by characters M'Baku, Ramonda, Ned, May Parker, Thaddeus Ross, Red Skull/Johann Schmidt, Morgan Stark, Harley Keener, Cassie Lang, Korg, Miek and a photo of Erik Selvig.
A handful of actors appear in the film as well, without taking on a lead role. Stan Lee appears as a car show man, which is unsurprising considering Lee's constant cameos in the Marvel universe. Joe Russon, Jim Starlin, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ken Jeong and Hiroyuki Sanada also appear in secondary roles.
