'Avengers: Infinity War' TV Spot Reveals Soul Stone? Gauntlet Contains at Least Four Infinity Stones

So far, we've only seen Thanos with two or three of the six Infinity Stones needed to fill the Infinity Gauntlet and wreck everything we love. That's not the case in the latest TV spot for Avengers: Infinity War. Unless our eyes are playing tricks on us, the Mad Titan has at least four Infinity Stones in his possession.

Is that the Soul Stone? Marvel

You will only be able to see this if you watched the latest one-minute promo on Twitter or Instagram. The widescreen version on YouTube cuts off the bottom of Thanos' hand. If you're on mobile right now and want to see this still in motion, scroll to the 23-second mark. Don't blink or you'll miss it. Let's go over the visible stones from left to right.

All the way to the left side of the screen is the purple stone, or the Power Stone. It's what was inside The Orb from the first Guardians of The Galaxy. Last we saw, it was under the protection of the Nova Corps.

The blue one is the Space Stone, which powers the Tesseract Loki stole from Asgard at the end of Thor: Ragnarok. It's likely the Space Stone is shining brightest because the trailer shows Thanos teleporting to a battle, which is exactly what the space stone does. The stone giving off a pink hue is the Reality Stone. Last seen in the Aether in Thor: The Dark World, it used to be with The Collector. Not anymore.

The last stone appears to be dark orange, which means it's likely the Soul Stone, if the Infinity Stone lesson we got from The Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy remains true. How or when Thanos acquires the Soul Stone remains one of the biggest mysteries heading into Infinity War. It's very clear Marvel wants the Soul Stone reveal to stay secret, since James Gunn even shot down one of the most popular theories: That the Soul Stone is in Adam Warlock's possession, as the beloved character was teased in the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy and has a huge role in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline from the comic books.

So that leaves two stones missing, the yellow Mind Stone and the green Time Stone. The fact that Thanos seemingly has the Soul Stone already before he's acquired the Time Stone and the Mind Stone, is somewhat concerning since we know the location of those final two. The Mind Stone is (once in Loki's scepter), is still embedded within Vision's forehead. Previous trailers showed the Black Order prying it out. In the photo below, the Mind Stone does have a gold/orange shade, so we can't rule out the possiblity that the stone all the way to the right in the Infinity Gauntlet from the new footage is indeed the Mind Stone being darkened by the clouds surrounding Thanos. If so, that's bad news for Vision.

The second remaining stone, the Time Stone, is with Doctor Strange inside the Eye of Agamotto. It's possible that the Time Stone is already in the Gauntlet in this promo, though it's hard to see if there's something protruding to the left of the purple power stone. If the bump has a color, it could mean the Mind Stone (or the Soul Stone if the one in the Gauntlet is actually yellow) might be the only stone Thanos has left to acquire when he arrives to the battle teased in the trailer.

It's worth noting that in the shot where Thanos holds back Captain America, he only has two stones. Without any context about when the two scenes take place in relation to each other, it's hard to tell the order in which Thanos fills the Gauntlet. It's possible Thanos starts out with more stones, including the Soul Stone, and The Avengers are able to take some back at certain points in the film. Or, the scene with Cap holding off Thanos takes place early on and Thanos later collects more stones. Only time will tell.
