La La Land leads the race at this year's British Academy (BAFTA) Film Awards with 11 nominations.

The musical starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling continues to dazzle awards voters after an impressive clean sweep at the Golden Globes Sunday, where it won all seven of its nominated categories.

Director Damien Chazelle's ode to the bright lights of Los Angeles is up for best film, best director and best screenplay for Chazelle, and Stone and Gosling are nominated in best actress and best actor respectively.

Denis Villenueve's sci-fi thriller Arrival and fashion designer/director Tom Ford's drama Nocturnal Animals tied for nine nominations apiece. Both films star Amy Adams; she is recognized in the best actress category for her work in the former.

Manchester by the Sea, the poignant drama starring Casey Affleck, is nominated for six awards, followed by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, I, Daniel Blake, Lion and Hacksaw Ridge, each with five nominations.

Golden Globe-winning drama Moonlight has four nominations, as does Florence Foster Jenkins, the Meryl Streep-starring musical comedy.

BAFTA announced the nominees for the EE Rising Star Award last week. It is the only category voted for by the public and recognizes emerging film talent. Nominees this year include Spider-Man actor Tom Holland and Loving breakout star Ruth Negga.

This year's BAFTA Film Awards take place in London on February 12.
