Newly arrested real estate tycoon Robert Durst may have committed heinous crimes, as he seems to have confessed in the HBO series The Jinx.
But he has never been the frontman for loathed rap-metal outfit Limp Bizkit. That's Fred Durst, and despite their shared surname, the two characters are not the same man. The Associated Press has just learned this lesson the hard way:

As Jim Romenesko points out (via a tip from Eric Roy, a host on KCRW/Santa Monica, California), an AP wire report erroneously said that "an arrest warrant was issued for the former Limp Bizkit frontman." In fact, Fred Durst is still the frontman of Limp Bizkit (the band has a new album planned for 2015) and has yet to be tried for his role in writing "Nookie."
Here's the AP's correction. Somewhat similarly, The New York Times last month confused Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig with Vox.com Editor-in-Chief Ezra Klein. How many Ezras are there, anyway?
