Bob Odenkirk Thanks 'Better Call Saul' Fans for Not Hating Show Amid Finale

Bob Odenkirk shared a video to thank fans, as Better Call Saul came to an epic conclusion on Monday, August 15.

The actor has portrayed lawyer Saul Goodman since 2009, first appearing in Breaking Bad and then taking the title role in prequel spin-off Better Call Saul.

Taking to Twitter following the finale, Odenkirk posted a video where he shared his gratitude with fans for not hating the show and giving it a chance.

In his video message, Odenkirk first took the opportunity to give his thanks to co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, before heaping praise on his fellow cast members and the crew that worked on the sets of Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He said: "Hey there, everyone's been asking me about how I feel saying goodbye to Saul Goodman and Better Call Saul and I'm not good at answering the question because its frankly hard for me to look at that experience and even that character too closely.

"It's too many moving parts and it's a mystery how it happened, thank you for watching, I want to thank Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, I did nothing to deserve this part, but I hope I earned it over six seasons.

"The cast around me, Rhea Seehorn, Michael McKean, Jonathan Banks, Tony Dalton, Michael Mando, Patrick Fabian and everyone else, Giancarlo Esposito. They all made me a better actor than I am just working with them or watching them work, it's been an unbelievable experience.

"I want to thank the crew in Albuquerque these people are the sweetest, most hard-working pros. I'll never be around so many people doing their jobs so well, I can't imagine it, it was great."

Odenkirk then finished his message by thanking the fans of Better Call Saul directly, particularly for their support in the wake of Breaking Bad's success.

"The fans, thanks for giving us a chance because we came out of a lot of people's favourite show and we could have been hated for simply trying to do a show but we weren't, we were given the chance.

"Hopefully we made the most of it. Better Call Saul: closely observed, idiosyncratic story about a very neat guy but in the end, if you paid attention, it was about big, big things inside people, and thank you."

Better Call Saul is available to watch in full on AMC+.
