It's been an exciting week for Borderlands fans as Gearbox not only announced the release date for the much-anticipated Borderlands 3, it also released a remastered version of the original Borderlands 1 game, titled Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition (GOTY). The updated edition is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One and brings a number of quality of life changes as well as the ability to use SHiFT codes. To celebrate the launch of these two exciting new additions to the Borderlands franchise, the company has also thrown players a number of new GOTY Enhanced, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel SHiFT codes. The codes redeem everything from Community Day skins to Golden Keys. Below we've put together a complete list of active Borderlands SHiFT codes. Borderlands Shift Codes: Everything to Know
What are Shift Codes?
SHiFT are a kind of hidden reward system Gearbox added in Borderlands 2. By inputting a specific 25-character code into Borderlands 2, or Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, players can unlock different goodies the game such as Golden Keys, skins, equipment and more. SHiFT codes typically expire within a certain amount of days so they must be used quickly. Gearbox typically posts SHiFT keys on their various social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter. SHiFT keys have also been found in other secret locations such as game box art and video trailers.
What are Golden Keys?
Golden Keys are items used to unlock Golden Chests in Sanctuary and/or Concordia. When Golden Chests are unlocked, they typically contain rare purple or magenta weapons or rare purple or blue relics. The only way to get Golden Keys is with SHiFT codes.
How To Use Shift Codes
If you've never used SHiFT codes, redeeming them is fairly easy:
- Go to the Borderlands 2 or Pre-Sequel Main Menu.
- In the Main Menu, click on Extras and then Shift Codes.
- Once Inside Shift, a My Offers Screen should appear. Click on the Shift Code button.
- Enter your 25-digit SHiFT code for Borderlands 2, then click the Submit button.
Borderlands GOTY Enhanced / Remastered Shift Codes - All New Codes for Xbox, Playstation and PC
The following codes were released on April 8 - 19 via social media. No expiration dates were given for the codes, so use them soon. If you have trouble redeeming codes, try quitting your game and restarting before entering the codes.
