'Breaking Bad' Movie Spoilers: Cast, Characters, Release Date and Everything We Know

The highly anticipated Breaking Bad movie will follow the original series's plot, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie, which was confirmed last year, will follow beloved characters of the AMC series from exactly where viewers left them. The movie is said to be wrapping filming in New Mexico soon. So when will it premiere? Here's everything we know.

The Premiere

The Breaking Bad movie does not have an official premiere date, but it does have a confirmed platform. The movie, for which an official title has yet to be announced, will premiere on Netflix before it's former home network of AMC. The movie will eventually air on AMC, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It's unclear what the timeline will be like.

The Cast

The movie is said to be designed around Jesse Pinkman, who is played by Aaron Paul. Which other characters will return is uncertain. An unconfirmed leaked cast list does include character Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, according to Consequence of Sound.

The Plot

Breaking Bad fans can celebrate because the movie will be a direct sequel to the Breaking Bad series. When the series ended, Jesse was seen escaping a White Supremacist compound. The movie is said to pick up exactly in this spot.

Cranston spoke of the sequel, which he confirmed was happening in November. At the time, Cranston said he'd join the movie if asked but was unclear if Walter would be a part of the story. He noted the movie may act as a sense of closure for series fans. "It's a great story and there are a lot of people who felt that they wanted to see some kind of completion to some of these storylines that were left open [in the series finale]," Cranston said in an interview on The Dan Patrick Show in November. "This idea, from what I'm told, gets into those—at least a couple of the character show were not completed, as far as their journey."

The actor also spoke of his character, Walter, who died in the series. "I don't know if there's an appearance—flashbacks, flash forwards—but I'm excited about it because it's Breaking Bad and it was the greatest professional period of my life and I can't wait to see all those people again, even if I just come by to visit," he said of the cast.
