Britney Spears Says Her Dance Videos Are 'Healing,' Calls Therapy 'Torture of the Mind'

Since Britney Spears' 13-year conservatorship ended last year, the pop star has been sharing her healing process with fans on social media.

The 40-year-old posts regular updates on Instagram, speaking frankly about living under the court-appointed arrangement that did not allow her to make her own financial or health decisions.

Spears has also discussed her strained relationship with her family, whom she has accused of conservatorship abuse. Her family has denied any misconduct.

In her latest clip, posted on Sunday, the "Toxic" singer has opened up about the dancing videos she posts frequently, explaining that they are a source of "healing" for her as she enjoys life free from the conservatorship.

"I recorded 30 videos of dance when I was in Maui … that's fun to me !!! I know I'm not the best dancer, a lot of people make fun of the way I move but honestly as long as I'm moving and expressing my body outwardly in someway at this point … that's healing to me !!!" Spears wrote in the caption that accompanied a clip of her performing in a dance studio.

She contrasted the dancing with the therapy she underwent during the conservatorship, adding: "Therapy is all mind work … I did that 10 hours a day, 7 days a week when I was abused … there's nothing worse than torture of the mind … I'd rather someone slap my face than f*** with my mind !!!"

In another Instagram post last December, Spears described those therapy sessions as "forced" and "against [her] will."

The caption on her latest dancing video ended: "Dancing you don't think at all … I know my actions are not perfect but if you only knew how good it feels to feel with my body … I think most would get it !!! Bare [sic] with me, I'm learning !!! God bless you all !!!"

Rapper Nicki Minaj was one of the thousands to comment on the two-minute clip, complimenting Spears for her dancing.

"Not the best dancer?BRITNEY! PUT YOUR CROWN BACK ON & LEAVE IT THERE BABY!!!!!!" the rapper wrote. "you ARE the best dancer!!! Settled that, what's next?"

Spears has also posted several nude photos and videos on social media in recent months. The mother-of-two declared earlier this month that she was showing her body "as a rebel and free woman."

In a previous Instagram post about topless images, she wrote: "I am … a beautiful … sensitive woman who needs to look at myself in my purest form !!! No … I'm not going to do topless pics for the rest of my life cause that would get boring but it sure as hell helps when you need to be enlightened !!!!"
