Brittany Mahomes Accused of 'Copying' Taylor Swift

Brittany Mahomes is being trolled on social media once again, this time for "copying" new BFF Taylor Swift.

Since she began dating football star Travis Kelce, Swift has been a regular at Kansas City Chiefs games. The singer is often spotted cheering on the team with new pal Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The pair have developed their own secret handshake, as well as going on girls' nights out with the other players' wives and girlfriends. However, the friendship has also led to backlash online, with Mahomes being described as a "Taylor [wannabe]."

The 28-year-old shared a snap of her latest game-day outfit to Instagram, which she wore to watch the Chiefs game against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Photographed on the field at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the former soccer player looked stunning in a patent leather skirt, black roll neck sweater, leather over-the-knee boots and a cream revere collar coat.

Nevertheless, followers criticized the ensemble, comparing it to the outfit Swift wore to watch the Chiefs play the Green Bay Packers on December 3.

"Dressed just like Taylor?" commented tinaleep.

"Copy Taylor Swifts game day style much?" asked nicolecuteasf.

"Taylor [wannabe]," said pamelachristensen88.

"You're bad for Taylor's look… like really bad," wrote realdolby.

"Get off the field.. So cringey and try hard to dress like Taylor now," said michellelitzgriffin. "You are a joke."

However, other users defended Mahomes, with jessababe44 calling the haters "pathetic."

"I think she looks incredible," wrote mama_roady_lifeisgood.

"This my favorite outfit so far. That coat is to die for," said misssarahilden.

"Grown adults being bullies online is just iiiiiiick," commented kal_eighyoung.

"I'm so sorry Britney you don't deserve these ridiculous comments," said theglam_squad.

Tcnutter agreed, writing: "I will never understand how or why WOMEN tear down other women for no reason."

Newsweek has reached out to Brittany Mahomes for comment via Instagram.

As the wife of a famous athlete, Mahomes is used to dealing with mean comments online. The mom-of-two has been criticized for her outfit choices, career decisions and even her husband's behavior on the field.

In an Instagram Story shared on Tuesday, Mahomes blasted trolls for their "rude a**" remarks.

"Recently there has been A LOT more rude a** people on here," she wrote. "Waaaay more then [sic] normal...

"I'm not sure where yall came from, but you should probably go back to where you came from… please."

Although Mahomes is accustomed to living in the spotlight, her friendship with Swift has led to increased scrutiny.

Swift and Mahomes were dubbed the "two most hated people in the NFL" in October, with football fans complaining about the amount of coverage the pop star and her pal receive during games.
