'Call Of Duty: WWII' Update Adds Domination XL & Weapon Buffs

Call Of Duty: WWII received a fresh playlist update Friday afternoon, and it adds key weapon buffs and a brand-new take on a beloved multiplayer mode. An official post on the game's subreddit details the major changes.

HOT FIX

  • Fixed issue where Care Package parachutes were not taking damage and detaching

WEAPON TUNING

MP40

  • Slight recoil buff

Type 100

  • Slight fire rate buff

MODES

  • Domination XL is now live for both Standard and Hardcore.

BRONZE STAR ADJUSTMENTS

  • Bronze Star award now considers kills with lethals, Scorestreaks and weapon switching
  • Fewer one-shot kills are shown in Bronze Star clips.

Starting with weapons, the assumed goal of these changes is to make the MP40 and Type 100 more competitive against the overwhelmingly popular PPSh-41. Because SMGs continue to be WWII's most-used weapon class, it makes sense for Sledgehammer to constantly refine that meta for optimized balance. These particular buffs are barely perceptible in gameplay, but you might feel them in close firefights.

Dom XL, on the other hand, is a mode tweak based solely on Scorestreaks. As its name implies, Domination XL is a super-sized version of the traditional Domination Mode. That means all kills are worth 100 points instead of 50. Higher scores means greater access to Scorestreaks and more eventful matches. For those who prefer to play Domination the old way, the standard Dom playlist is still present in the game.

This Call Of Duty: WWII update is a fairly small one, but it makes interesting adjustments to the game in the midst of its Shamrock & Awe event. While players are racking up kills, finding zombie leprechauns and opening themed Supply Drops, the WWII multiplayer experience should feel tighter than ever.

Call Of Duty: WWII is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
