'Call of Duty: WWII' Update Finalizes Domination, Adds Community Challenge

Call of Duty: WWII continues to serve its lively player base, as proven by the game's latest Community Update. Domination debates were settled and Community Challenges began. Here's everything you need to know.

DOMINATION 75 IS HERE TO STAY

There's been lots of debate when it comes to WWII's Domination mode, and the issue has been resolved in a rather unexpected way. While polling suggests players prefer 100 points per kill instead of 50, Sledgehammer has chosen to pander to both sides by keeping the final amount at 75.

According to the post, developers believe this number strikes the perfect balance between encouraging teams to play the objective and offering appropriate rewards for chasing Scorestreaks. With the decision finalized, players won't be able to select between Domination and Domination XL anymore.

THE FIRST COMMUNITY CHALLENGE IS LIVE

As announced alongside the Blitzkrieg Event, Call of Duty: WWII now features Community Challenges that involve the entire player base working toward a single goal. The first challenge, which runs through May 8, pushes players to complete 75 million Orders and Contracts by the deadline. To make sure your progress gets counted, simply go to Captain Butcher or Major Howard to redeem a Contract or Order as normal. All completed tasks count towards the community total.

While the best reward awaits at the 75 million milestone, there are four lower tiers as well:

  • Tier 1: Emblem "Clip"
  • Tier 2: Calling Card "Eagle Gunner"
  • Tier 3: Weapon Charm "Bang"
  • Tier 4: "M1 Ammo Reserves" helmet
  • Tier 5: Grease Gun "Rosie II"

OTHER MINOR THINGS TO BE AWARE OF

  • Zombies Orders & Contracts: Look for Rideau the Zombies Quartermaster to add more depth and challenge to your Zombies runs.
  • The 1.13 update from last week is now live on PC. We've still got the full patch notes if you need them.
  • Double XP On Ground War Moshpit Playlist: Will be in effect through April 23 at 1 p.m. EDT

Those are all the major changes in Call of Duty: WWII this week. Unfortunately, unlike the previous community blog post, this one doesn't offer any hints about the future. Especially as we inch closer to the Oct. 12 release date of Black Ops 4, activity in WWII will likely trail off a bit.

Call of Duty: WWII is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The above changes are live across all platforms.
