Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti believes Arsene Wenger can deal with the criticism he has been receiving, as Arsenal travels to Germany for the resumption of the UEFA Champions League.

Wenger has come under pressure at Emirates Stadium in recent weeks, as Arsenal's challenge for the English Premier League has faltered, with the club now ten points behind runaway leader Chelsea.

Arsenal has exited the Champions League at the round of 16 stage in each of the past six seasons but Ancelotti, himself criticized at times in his first season as Bayern manager, chose to defend Wenger's record.

"He built a strong identity and a good style of football," Ancelotti said in quotes reported by BBC Sport.

"Wenger has the experience to know that in our job it is normal to be criticized. For this reason he has no problems.

"I have a lot of respect for the job he has done at Arsenal."

Bayern goes into the game on the back of a 2-0 win away at Bundesliga minnow Ingolstadt.
