A video of a cat's unique way of asking to have a chicken nugget has gone viral on TikTok.
The clip was posted on Wednesday by @emilyjade504 and it has already had over 168,000 views.
A message overlaid on the footage reads: "Every time I get a maccies he keeps doing this until he gets a chicken nugget."
The footage shows a cat laying on bed next to what appears to be a box of chicken nuggets from the McDonald's fast-food chain. The feline is shown making a chewing motion with his mouth while looking towards the camera as giggling is heard in the background before the clip ends.
As tempting as it might be to just give in to a cat's antics to get a bite of your meal, some human foods can be poisonous or even fatal for felines, such as raw meat because it may contain bacteria such as salmonella and E. coli.
Salty snacks, such as potato chips, pretzels, popcorn and other foods with high salt content, should also be avoided because too much salt consumption can "produce excessive thirst and urination, or even sodium ion poisoning in pets," warns the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
Those who suspect their pet has ingested any harmful foods should note the amount consumed and contact their veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at 1-888-426-4435.
'Subtle Hint'
TikTok users were in stitches over the cat's behavior in the latest viral clip.
