Chicago Shootings 2019: Every Reported Shooting in the Windy City So Far

Chicago and its reputed gun violence is a favorite topic of President Donald Trump's. While the Midwestern city has seen a continued decline in gun violence in the past few years, that has not stopped the president from evoking the persistence of gun violence in the Windy City.

In a speech at the International Association of Chiefs of Police in October 2018, Trump said there was "no reason" for the crime occurring in Chicago. The president said he directed his attorney general to "help straighten out the terrible shooting wave" in the city, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Months earlier, Trump said that killings in Chicago were at "a record pace" and that Mayor Rahm Emanuel was not allowing Chicago police to do their jobs.

"Tough police work, which Chicago will not allow, would bring things back to order fast…the killings must stop!" the president tweeted on May 26, 2018.

But data from the Chicago Police Department shows that the number of shootings have been decreasing. Citywide, the number of shootings have dropped by 14 percent from 2017 to 2018.

Those trends have continued into the new year. On March 1, Chicago Police announced that it had documented 214 shootings within city limits in the first two months of the year. That figure represents a 24 percent decline in shootings compared with the same time period in 2018. Police said that shooting incidents declined 7 percent in February 2019 compared with February 2018, and five police districts reported no shootings that month.

Murders and overall crime in Chicago have also decreased, police said. Meanwhile, gun arrests and seizures have risen—1,600 illegal guns were confiscated in 2019.

Despite a marked decline in shootings, Chicago continues to rank high among major U.S. cities when it comes to gun violence. Newsweek has compiled daily reports of all the shootings in Chicago in 2019.

March 17, 2019

• Two male victims, ages 16 and 21, were traveling in a vehicle going westbound in the 2600 block of W. 55th Street at around 1:20 p.m. when an unknown dark colored vehicle approached. Someone from the vehicle began shooting at the victims. The 16-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to his left shoulder and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. The 21-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was also taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Area Central is investigating.
• An approximately 37-year-old man was walking in the 4000 block of W. 24th Street at around 4:50 p.m. when an unknown gray colored pickup truck traveling westbound pulled up and fired shots at him. The victim was struck in the back and his neck. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. Area Central is investigating.
• A 19-year-old man was walking in the 300 block of W. 66th Street at approximately 5:10 p.m. when a silver sedan pulled up. Chicago Police said an unknown man got out of the vehicle, displayed a handgun and began shooting at the victim. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his upper right leg in good condition. Area Central detectives are investigating.
• A 17-year-old boy was standing outside in the 1300 block of S. Spaulding around 8:30 p.m. when an unknown occupant inside a passing black Jeep Grand Cherokee fired shots and struck him in the chest. The victim self transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area Central investigates.
• A 23-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 7400 block of S. Eberhart at 10 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain. The victim self-transported to University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the right shoulder. He was listed in stable condition. No one is in custody while Area Central detectives investigate.
• A 33-year-old man was taking out the trash in the 5100 block of W. North Avenue at around 9:30 p.m. when he was approached by two Black males, one of which displayed a handgun. The two offenders announced a robbery and, after the victim refused to give them his property, they shot him in the knee and foot. The offenders then fled the scene on foot, Chicago Police said. The victim self-transported to West Suburban Medical Center but was transferred to Loyola University Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized. March 16, 2019

• Two women, ages 23 and 27, were injured while in a vehicle with a 24-year-old man in the 9200 block of S. Eggleston at around 12:35 a.m. A burgundy van reportedly drove up by the trio and began firing shots. The two women were injured in the shooting, but the man was not. The man drove the 23-year-old victim to the 7100 block of S. Champlain, where EMS was called. The 23-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition. The 27-year-old victim was transported from the shooting scene to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the knee and was in serious condition. No one is in custody as Area South investigates.
• A man, 34, and woman, 51, were injured during a verbal altercation that turned physical with a 46-year-old man in the 8400 block of S. Stony Island at around 1:35 a.m. The 46-year-old shot both victims, Chicago Police said. The male victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest and was in critical condition. The female victim was also transported to University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the ankle. She was in good condition. Officers took the offender into custody and recovered a weapon. Area South detectives are investigating.
• A 14-year-old boy was walking in the 2900 block of W. 59th Street when a black vehicle approached and an occupant shot at him. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in good condition. The offenders fled and no one is in custody. Area Central is investigating.
• Two victims were heading northbound on the 5000 block of S. California when a vehicle approached and occupants fired shots. The victims's vehicle struck two street signs and came to a stop, Chicago Police said. A 21-year-old male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. A 19-year-old male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the back. He was also transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. No one is in custody as Area Central investigates.

March 15, 2019

• An 18-year-old man was inside a parked vehicle in the 1000 block of N. Lawndale at around 3:55 a.m. when a green Ford Explorer drove up and a verbal altercation ensued. The offender shot at the victim several times, striking him in the arm and abdomen, before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition. No one is in custody. Area North detectives are investigating.
• A 23-year-old man was walking in the 8700 block of S. Bishop at 12:18 p.m. when an unknown offender exited a light colored truck and fired shots. Chicago Police said the victim began running away when the offender entered the vehicle and continued to fire shots. The offender(s) then fled the scene. The victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the lower back and right leg and was listed in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area South investigates.
• A 21-year-old man was walking in the 300 block of West 105th when he heard shots and felt pain, Chicago Police said. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the lower left buttock and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody while Area South detectives investigate.
• A 24-year-old man found in the 7400 block of South Harvard at around 7:15 p.m. sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead. No one is in custody as Area South investigates.
• A 62-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen while at the 2000 block of West 50th St at around 9 p.m. The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition. No one is in custody. Area Central is investigating.

March 14, 2019

• A 38-year-old Black man was found in a motel room in the 10000 block of S. Halsted at around 2:15 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No one is in custody as Area South investigates.
• Chicago Police responded to a report of a person down in the 900 block of W. 73rd Street at around 12:20 p.m. Officers found a 21-year-old man shot in the head. The victim, who was initially believed to be between 14-15, was transported to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Circumstances of the shooting remain unknown due to the lack of witnesses.
• Two victims, a 17-year-old female and 29-year-old male, were in a vehicle in the 900 block of West 87th Street at around 6:51 p.m. when two male offenders approached on foot and shot at them. The 17-year-old was shot in the right hand and the stomach and was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition. The 29-year-old sustained gunshot wounds to both legs and was also transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition. No one is in custody. Area South is investigating.
• A 49-year-old man was standing in the 6500 block of South Peoria at around 8 p.m. when a dark colored SUV pulled up and a passenger shot at him. The vehicle then fled the scene. The victim, who sustained a graze wound to the left shoulder, was transported by ambulance to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition. No one is in custody as Area South investigates.
• A 26-year-old man was driving westbound on the 3200 block of W. Grand at around 10:14 when a vehicle, believed to be a dark colored sedan, pulled up and an occupant fired at the victim. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the left side of the neck and chest. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No one is in custody while Area North detectives investigate.

• A 30-year-old man was shot while exiting a vehicle in the 8200 block of South Indiana Avenue at around 9:16 a.m. An unknown offender(s) in a black vehicle shot at the victim, striking him in the back, stomach, buttocks and leg. He was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition. Area South detectives are investigating.

March 12, 2019

• A 45-year-old man was shot at while standing in the 8700 block of South Carpenter at around 3:49 p.m. An unknown male approached the victim on foot and fired shots at him. The victim sustained a graze wound to the left leg and was transported to Little Company of Mary Hospital in good condition. No one is in custody while Area South investigates.
• A 27-year-old was shot in the stomach in the 4700 block of South Cottage Grove at around 4:16 p.m. He was transported in serious condition to University of Chicago Medical Center. Chicago Police said circumstances of the shooting are unknown, but Area Central is investigating. Shooting occurred inside a building.
• Two victims, an 18-year-old woman and 23-year-old man, were shot while standing in the corner of the 7900 block of South Paulina at around 5:23 p.m. An unknown Nissan drove by and occupants inside shot at the victims. The male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the left foot and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in stable condition. The female victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. No one is in custody. Area South investigating.

March 11, 2019

• A 22-year-old man was exiting a commercial business in the 5100 block of W. Madison Ave at around 6:10 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown male offender. The offender produced a handgun and began shooting at the victim. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left arm and was listed in good condition. Area North detectives are investigating.

March 10, 2019

• A 21-year-old man was inside a residence in the 10500 block of S. Yates at around 12:05 a.m. with a group of people when a shot was fired, striking the victim in the abdomen. The known offender fled the scene. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition. No one is in custody while Area South investigates.
• A 43-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk of the 600 block of N. Cicero at around 6:14 a.m. when he was shot in the back and leg. The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Chicago Police said circumstances of the shooting are unknown. Area North is investigating.
• A man, unknown age, was shot during a verbal altercation that turned physical with a woman in the 1000 block of South Clark Street at around 10:54 a.m. Police said the two were arguing when the man began battering the woman. The woman then shot the man, striking him in the leg. The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition. The woman was taken to Cook County Hospital with a broken hand, bruises and lacerations. Chicago Police said the man appeared to have been shot in self-defense and was placed into custody. Area Central is investigating.
• Two male victims, ages 19 and 27, were shot following a suspected road rage incident in the 2200 block of N. Lorel Avenue at around 6 p.m. The victims were traveling northbound when they got into a physical altercation with occupants of another vehicle. The offenders fired shots towards the victims, striking the 19-year-old victim in the right shoulder and the 27-year-old victim in the right forearm. The victims self-transported to Community First Medical Center and then later transferred to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition. Area North is investigating.
• Chicago Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 9200 block of S. Cottage Grove at 10:43 p.m. and found a 45-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds to the leg and neck. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.

March 9, 2019

• A 19-year-old was standing on the sidewalk of the 10100 block of S. Union at around 12:34 a.m. when he heard shots and felt pain. Officers found the victim with several gunshot wounds to the body and transported him to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition. No one is in custody. Area South detectives are investigating.
• A 17-year-old boy was shot in the back by a known offender, who drove up to him in a blue sedan, on the 4100 block of S. Prairie at around 1:40 a.m. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody while Area Central investigates.
• Officers reported hearing shots near the area of the 1600 block of W. 56th Street at around 3:05 a.m. Police found a 29-year-old man with several gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center and is in stable condition. The victim told police he was in a verbal altercation with a male offender when that man produced a handgun and shot him. Area South, which is investigating, have not placed anyone in custody.
• Officers heard shots in the area of the 1500 block of N. Milwaukee at 3:27 a.m. The officers found a group of men, along with a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. Chicago Police said the victim and witnesses did not cooperate with officers. No one is in custody as Area North investigates.
• Two male victims, ages 21 and 32, sustained gunshot wounds while driving in a vehicle in the 400 block of W. 71st at around 5:25 a.m. Chicago Police said that an unknown vehicle with unknown occupants pulled up alongside the victims and the occupants fired shots towards the victims. The two men self-transported to University of Chicago Medical Center. The 21-year-old victim sustained a graze wound to the back and was released after treatment. The 32-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back and buttock and was listed in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
• A 13-year-old boy was shot in the head after being accidentally shot in the 7300 block of South Aberdeen at around 2:58 p.m. Chicago Police said that two teens were playing with a gun when the weapon accidentally discharged. The victim was transported to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No one is in custody. Area South is investigating.
• A 19-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and left leg in the 10600 block of South Bensley at around 4:23 p.m. The victim was at the location when a dark colored sedan pulled up and an unknown offender fired shots from the passenger side window. The victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition. No offenders are in custody. Area South is investigating.
• A Chicago Police officer was shot in the left shoulder in the 2700 block of West Potomac at around 7:18 p.m. The officer was executing a search warrant when a female offender shot the officer. The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition. The offender is in custody. Chicago Police said that no shots were fired by the police.

March 8, 2019

• Two male victims, ages 28 and 58, were shot during a large street fight on the 600 block of N. Franklin at around 12:10 a.m. Police said the men were involved in a fight with a group of approximately 15 people on the sidewalk at the mouth of an alley. A Black male offender, who was wearing a green puffy jacket and black hat, produced a gun and began shooting. The 28-year-old victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 58-year-old victim self-transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with bullet fragments to his leg and arm. He was in stable condition. No one is in custody while Area Central investigates.
• A man, age unknown, was shot in the head in the 4000 block of of West Cullom at around 3:06 p.m. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Chicago Police said the circumstances of the shooting remain unknown due to lack of witnesses. No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
• A 20-year-old man was shot in the left leg during a verbal altercation with a male offender in the 0-100 block of W. 95th Street at around 9 p.m. The victim and the offender were arguing when the offender produced a handgun and began shooting. The victim was transported by ambulance to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition. No one is in custody as Area South investigates.

March 7, 2019

• A 31-year-old man was shot by a male offender while standing on the street in the 10300 block of Avenue G at around 4:24 a.m. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is in stable condition. No one is in custody. Area South detectives are investigating.
• A 32-year-old woman sustained several gunshot wounds while traveling eastbound in the 5300 block of W. Le Moyne at around 3:50 p.m. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the right arm, behind the right ear and the stomach. She was transported to Stroger Hospital and is in serious condition. Area North detectives are investigating.
• At around 5:44 p.m. on the 5600 block of S. Laflin, police found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the face. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. Area Central is investigating.
• A 19-year-old Black man was walking on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of N. Maynard at around 10:14 p.m. when an occupant of a dark-colored sedan fired shots. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right calf and was transported to Loyola University Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody while Area North detectives investigate.

March 6, 2019

• A 27-year-old man was shot in the back at around 4:50 p.m. and driven to Swedish Covenant Hospital. Chicago Police said the victim does not know where exactly he was shot. He was transferred to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in stable condition. Area North is investigating.
• A 20-year-old woman sustained a graze wound to the back of the head on the 4800 block of W. Rice Street at around 8:23 p.m. The offender was reportedly cleaning his weapon when it discharged and grazed the victim. The woman self-transported to West Suburban Medical Center. The offender is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.

March 5, 2019

• A 30-year-old man was walking in the 1700 block of W. 49th Street around 12:30 a.m. when he was shot by an unknown occupant inside a passing gray Ford Explorer. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the arm and leg and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized. No one is in custody as Area Central investigates.
• A 24-year-old man was shot in the back in the 300 block of S. Kilpatrick at around 10:54 a.m. He was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Chicago Police said the circumstances of the shooting are unknown. Area North detectives are investigating.
• Two 17-year-old boys were shot while standing at the entrance of an alley in the 6400 block of S. Western Avenue at 3:05 p.m. The two victims were approached by two unknown men in a vehicle. One of the offenders reportedly rolled down the window, displayed his gun and began shooting at the victims. One teen was shot in the side of the abdomen and the other was shot in the right leg. The boys were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and are in stable condition. Area Central is investigating.

March 4, 2019

• Chicago Police reported on a possible domestic dispute between a man and a woman in the 100 block of E. 60th Street at around 12:27 a.m. A 47-year-old woman was shot in the head and was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. A 51-year-old man reportedly sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was also taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. Police believe the man shot the woman and then shot himself during a verbal altercation that became physical. Area Central detectives are investigating.

March 3, 2019

• A 22-year-old woman was sitting inside a residence with a group of people in the 7200 block of South May at around 1:21 a.m. when shots were fired outside. Chicago Police said a bullet came in through the window and struck the victim in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene. No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
• Six people were shot at a location in the 2900 block of East 79th Street at 3:43 a.m. Victim 1 was identified as a 24-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the leg. Victim 2 was identified as a 26-year-old man who sustained a graze wound to the chest and a gunshot wound to the buttocks. Victim 2 was not cooperating with police. Both Victim 1 and Victim 2 were transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. Victim 3 was identified as a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the thigh. Victim 4 was identified as 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the right leg. Both men self-transported to Jackson Park Hospital & Medical Center and are in stable condition. Victim 5 was identified as 29-year-old woman who self-transported to Provident Hospital of Cook County with a gunshot wound to the knee. She was in stable condition. Victim 6 was identified as a 25-year-old man who self-transported to Jackson Park Hospital & Medical Center in good condition. No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
• A 27-year-old man was shot in the shoulder while on the 1300 block of South Lawndale at 5:19 a.m. The victim self-transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition. Chicago Police said the circumstances of the shooting are under investigation by Area Central detectives. No one is in custody.

March 2, 2019

• A 28-year-old Black man was driving a red sedan in the 10600 block of South Throop at 1:49 a.m. when someone in a dark-colored sedan pulled up and fired shots. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the left arm and was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area South investigates.
• A 25-year-old Black man was involved in a street fight in the 0-100 block of South Lavergne at 2:57 p.m. when a man in a silver SUV fired shots, Chicago Police said. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No one is in custody. Area North detectives are investigating.
• A 28-year-old was shot by two ski mask-wearing men in a sports utility vehicle in the 4500 block of West Wilcox Street at approximately 5:22 a.m. The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition after being shot in the chest. No one is in custody as Area North investigates.
• A 38-year-old man was shot in the hand after a verbal altercation with a known offender in the 900 block of West Garfield Boulevard at 9:32 a.m. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition. Chicago Police said detectives were investigating the incident, which is believed to be domestic in nature. No one is in custody.
• A 17-year-old boy was walking in the 4700 block of West Fullerton at around 6:45 p.m. when an unknown vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots. The teen sustained gunshot wounds to the right arm and flank. He self-transported to Community First Medical Center but was transferred to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious condition. No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
• A 19-year-old woman was sitting in her vehicle in the 2400 block of South Western at 7:49 p.m. when she said she heard shots and felt pain. The victim self-transported to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hip. She is in good condition. Chicago Police said the circumstances of the shooting are unknown but Area Central detectives are investigating. No one is in custody.

March 1, 2019

• A 38-year-old man was shot while at the 5900 block of South Morgan by an unknown offender at approximately 10:24 a.m. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition. No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
• A shooting was reported in the 5100 block of South Kenwood at around 2:38 pm. Chicago Police said no one was injured during the shooting and there was minimal damage to property. No one is in custody. Police recovered one weapon in the 5000 block of S. Woodlawn.
• An 18-year-old was a passenger of a vehicle traveling northbound in the 1800 block of N. Drake at 3:24 p.m. when someone standing on the sidewalk fired shots at the vehicle. The victim was struck in the abdomen and transported to Norwegian American Hospital in stable condition. He was set to be transferred to Stroger Hospital, Chicago Police said. No one is in custody as Area North investigates.
• A 28-year-old Black man was arguing with a woman on the sidewalk of the 900 block of West 51st Street at around 8:33 p.m. when another Black man approached and fired shots at the victim. The victim was struck on the left foot and transported to St. Bernard Hospital in stable condition. No one is in custody. Area Central is investigating.

February 28, 2019

• According to a preliminary report by the Chicago Police, a 30-year-old man was shot twice in the lower right leg while in the 1400 block of South Spaulding at around 3:40 p.m. The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition. Chicago Police has not released additional information on the case.
• A 32-year-old man reportedly got into a car with two witnesses and began driving eastbound in the 1400 block of West 49th Place at 4:36 p.m. Two unknown men approached the vehicle and fired shots, grazing the victim in the left hip. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition. Area Central is investigating.
• Two men, ages 34 and 51, were standing in the 4100 block of Washington Avenue at 7:05 p.m. when shots were fired by an unknown person in a passing car. The 34-year-old victim self-transported to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg and is in good condition. The 51-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition. There are no descriptions of the shooter or the vehicle they were in. • A 21-year-old man sustained gunshot graze wounds to the left arm and upper back in the 4400 block of North Elston Avenue at 5:37 p.m. The victim was transported to Community First Medical Center in stable condition. Chicago Police said the unknown offenders fled the scene in a light blue sedan. No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.

• A 17-year-old teen sustained several gunshot wounds to the leg and lower back while walking in the 2500 block of East 100th at 8:25 a.m. The victim reportedly observed a dark colored sedan approach him and an unknown occupant shoot at him. The victim ran off on foot and later discovered he had been shot. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody. Area South detectives are investigating.
• A 22-year-old male was sitting inside in a building in the 10500 block of South Ewing at 2:31 p.m. when an unknown man passed by and shot at the victim through a window, striking him in the face. The shooter was described as a man wearing a white hoodie and a face mask. The offender fled eastbound and then in an unknown location, Chicago Police said. The victim was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital, but is set to be transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody. Area South is investigating.
• A 65-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of North Monticello at around 5:30 p.m. when he heard shots and saw an unknown offender shooting at a group of people. Chicago Police said the offender ran up to the victim and began shooting at him, striking him multiple times in the upper body. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition. Police took three people of interest in for questioning. Area North is investigating.
• A 17-year-old boy was riding in a vehicle traveling in the 4400 block of West Addison at 5:36 p.m. when a Hispanic male standing in a corner with two other men fired shots. The victim was struck in the neck and transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition. He later died in the hospital, Chicago Police said. • A 32-year-old black male was injured during a drive-by shooting in the 1000 block of West 78th Street at 12:18 a.m. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the left leg. No one is in custody was Area South investigates.
• A 19-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 2500 block of North Hirsch with an acquaintance at around 3:49 a.m. when an unknown man appeared from an alley on foot and fired at the victim. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he is in stable condition. No one is in custody. Area North detectives are investigating.
• A 17-year-old Black teen was in an argument with two known men inside an apartment in the 800 block of West 77th Street at 9:05 p.m., when shots were fired. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. No one is in custody while Area South investigates.

• A 47-year-old Black woman was discovered shot near an alley in the 5300 block of West Iowa at around 12:25 a.m. Chicago police said the victim appeared to have a gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene. No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
• A 46-year-old Black man was standing on the sidewalk in the 8200 block of South Vernon at around 4 a.m. when he was approached by three men. The assailants robbed the victim of an unknown amount of money before firing shots at him. The victim was shot in the left leg and was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. Area South detectives are investigating. No one has been arrested.
• A 57-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the head in what is believed to have been a domestic dispute in the 800 block of South Keeler at 9:33 a.m. The victim was reportedly shot following a verbal altercation. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition. The known shooter is not in custody. Area North is investigating.
• Two men, a 46-year-old and an unknown male, got into a verbal altercation inside a commercial business in the 5600 block of S. Racine at 3:30 p.m. The fight spilled into the sidewalk, where the unknown man displayed a handgun and began shooting at the victim. The 46-year-old suffered gunshot wounds to the groin, left leg and right foot. He was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition. Area Central is investigating.
• A 17-year-old boy reported hearing shots and feeling pain while riding as a passenger in a vehicle traveling in the 11200 block of S. Bishop at 9:02 p.m. Victim self-transported to Roseland Community Hospital with a graze wound to the head. He was in stable condition. Area South detectives are investigating.
• An argument involved a 35-year-old Hispanic woman and a Black woman ended with shots fired, Chicago Police said. The two women were arguing on the street in the 6200 block of S. Whipple at 10:03 p.m. During the argument, a Black man shot at the Hispanic woman, striking her in the abdomen. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition. The other woman was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center for stab wounds sustained during the fight. The man is in custody while Area Central investigates.

• Two men were shot following a verbal altercation with multiple people in the 5500 block of S. Spaulding Avenue at 12 p.m. A 20-year-old victim was shot in the right arm and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition. A 34-year-old victim was shot multiple times and was also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Witnesses said they spotted a black SUV fleeing the scene following the shooting. Area Central detectives are investigating.
• A 15-year-old boy was walking in the 1500 block of North Hamlin at 6:56 p.m. when an unknown assailant approached him and began firing shots. The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm. He was in stable condition, Chicago Police said. No one is in custody. Area North is investigating.
• A 32-year-old man was shot while standing in the 8600 block of South Burley at 7:03 p.m. The victim told police he was approached by an unknown man and shot. He sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
• A 23-year-old Black woman was riding as a passenger in a vehicle in the 700 block of E. 64th Street at 11:45 p.m. when someone in a black sedan pulled up and began shooting. • A 40-year-old woman was injured during an attempted robbery in the 4700 block of W. Erie at 12:32 a.m. An unknown Black man approached the victim and demanded her belongings. After she refused, the offender shot her multiple times in the legs before fleeing in a gray Honda sedan. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area North investigates.
• A 40-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 500 block of S. Kilbourn at 10:50 a.m. The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. No one is in custody while Area North detectives investigate.
• A 24-year-old man was injured while standing in the corner of 71st Street and Chappell Street at approximately 2 p.m. The victim noticed an unidentified Black man wearing all black clothing step out of a black sedan that had parked near him and shot at him. Chicago Police said the victim was shot twice in the lower abdomen and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. Area South detectives are investigating.
• A 39-year-old man was shot multiple times after an argument with an unknown person inside his vehicle in the 3600 block of West Douglas Boulevard at 2:47 p.m. The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:24 p.m. A handgun was recovered in the vehicle, but no one is in custody. Area Central detectives are investigating.
• Three unknown Hispanic men approached a 19-year-old man on the sidewalk in the 4000 block of West Armitage at 4:53 p.m., Chicago Police said. One of the men showed the victim a silver handgun and began shooting at the victim. The 19-year-old was shot three times in the left arm and was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in stable condition. No offenders in custody while Area North investigates.
• A 33-year-old man was walking towards his residence in the 8100 block of S. Cottage Road at around 6 p.m. when he heard gunshots and felt a pain in his leg. The victim ran towards his home, where he realized he had been shot in the right thigh. He was transported to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition. Area South detectives are investigating.
• A 19-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk in the 8900 block of S. Escanaba at approximately 6:44 p.m. when an occupant of a red sedan fired shots at her. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right leg and was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area South investigates.
• A 24-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 1700 block of E. 95th Street at around 10:20 p.m. when someone in a gray sedan fired shots. The victim took himself to Advocate Trinity Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left ankle. Condition is unknown. No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.

• An 18-year-old was standing in the 1500 block of W. 94th Street at 10:02 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, Chicago Police said. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody while Area South investigates.
• A fight, possibly involving teenagers, broke out in a movie theater in the 200 block of West 87th Street at approximately 11:17 p.m. Chicago Police said a group of offenders, possibly three Black males, ran out of the theater's front door, with at least one turning around and firing shots at the door. No one was shot or injured. Area South is investigating and no one is in custody.

• A 20-year-old man was approached in the 1400 block of E. 68th Street at 4:51 a.m. by an armed offender, who demanded the victim's property. The victim did what the offender asked for and then fled towards a vehicle. While driving away, the offender shot at the vehicle and struck the victim in the lower back. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area Central investigates.
• A 37-year-old man was standing in the 1200 block of North Pulaski at around 4 p.m. when an offender walked up to him and fired shots. The suspect fled the scene and the victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. He was in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
• A 26-year-old man was walking in the 8000 block of South Yale 5:48 p.m. when an unknown man exited a dark colored sedan and began shooting. The victim was struck in the hand and took himself to St. Bernard Hospital in stable condition. Chicago Police said the victim would be transferred to Stroger Hospital. No one is in custody. Area South is investigating.
• A 27-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle in the 300 block of North Avers at 6:29 p.m. when an unknown vehicle pulled up beside him. Someone in the other vehicle fired shots at the victim, striking him several times. The victim self-transported to Garfield Park Hospital, before being transferred to Stroger Hospital in stable condition. Chicago Police said two people of interest were taken in for questioning.
• A 29-year-old armed security guard was in a building in the 0-100 block of E. 95th Street at 9:55 p.m. when he accidentally discharged his gun while in the bathroom. The victim shot himself in the leg, Chicago Police said. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition. Area South detectives are investigating.

• A 38-year-old Black man was on the sidewalk in the 8300 block of S. Vernon at 5:05 a.m. when he was approached by a Black male offender, who fired shots. Chicago Police initially reported that the victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the hand, but later confirmed that the victim only suffered a laceration to the hand from broken glass. No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
• An 18-year-old man was shot while driving in the 4100 block of W. 43rd Street at 2:29 p.m. A dark colored vehicle reportedly pulled up behind the victim and proceeded to follow him when he drove away. The unknown vehicle pulled up beside the victim and someone inside shot at the victim, striking him in the right hand. The victim crashed into a parked vehicle and was later transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition. No one is in custody. Area Central is investigating.
• A 26-year-old man was walking in the 9000 block of S. Dante at 10:10 p.m. when he noticed a black vehicle drive by. Chicago Police said someone shot the victim, striking him in each leg. • A 34-year-old man was injured while pulling into a parking lot of a commercial business in 2500 block of W. Touhy Ave at approximately 1:50 p.m. Chicago Police said that an offender approached the man via the passenger side door. After the offender and victim had a brief argument, the offender began shooting at the victim. The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital with gunshot wounds to the left hand and left leg. He was in good condition. Area North is investigating.
• A 34-year-old man was exiting a convenience store in the 200 block of North St. Louis at 2:30 p.m. when a gunman appeared from a nearby alley and began shooting at him, Chicago Police said. The victim was shot in the right lower leg and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition. Area North detectives are investigating.
• Two men were shot while standing in the corner in the 5000 block of South Maplewood at 6:36 p.m. One of the victims said a light colored van pulled up and someone began firing shots. An 18-year-old was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old was shot in the groin and left thigh and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition. No one is in custody while Area Central investigates.
• A 19-year-old Hispanic man was shot while standing on the sidewalk in the 6500 block of S. Kedzie at 6:41 p.m. The victim said heard shots and felt pain. He initially self-transported to Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, but was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition. No one is in custody while Area Central detectives investigate.
• A man was driving eastbound in the 600 block of W. Washington when someone in a dark colored SUV fired a shot at his vehicle. The man was not injured, Chicago Police said. No one is in custody.

February 16, 2019

• A 22-year-old man was shot during a drive-by that appeared to be gang related. The man was driving in the 4400 block of South Archer at 12:21 a.m. when a gray Acura SUV with three male occupants pulled up beside him. One of the men fired shots at the victim and struck him in the lower backside. According to Chicago Police, before the shooting, one of the unknown men flashed gang signs at the victim. He was transported to Holy Cross Hospital in stable condition. No one is in custody while Area Central investigates.
• A 25-year-old was standing in the 500 block of North Hamlin at 4:25 a.m. when he was approached by four unknown Black men. The men allegedly fired shots at the victim, striking him in the arm. The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital in good condition. Chicago Police said the victim was not cooperating. No one is in custody as Area North investigates.
• A 20-year-old man was walking in the 2500 block of East 106th Street at 7:40 p.m. when he was approached by a group of unknown people. Someone from the group got close to the victim and began shooting, striking him in the left foot and right calf. Victim was transported in stable condition to University of Chicago Medical Center. Area South detectives are investigating.
• Police-involved shooting reported in the 2100 block of South Keeler. Chicago Police shot a 20-year-old man following an altercation, WLS reported. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. A 37-year-old police officer, who was not shot, was taken to the same hospital in stable condition, the Chicago Fire Department said, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
• A 38-year-old Black man was walking on the sidewalk in the 7600 block of North Paulina at 10:45 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain. The victim took himself to St. Francis Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right ankle. He was in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.

• A 41-year-old man was injured during a drive-by shooting while sitting in his parked vehicle in the 4400 block of S. Princeton at 12:21 a.m. Chicago Police said a white Ford Taurus pulled up next to the man and someone inside began to fire shots. The victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition with a gunshot wound to the leg. Authorities said the incident may have been a case of road rage. No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
• A 29-year-old man was shot in the hand during an attempted robbery in the 2900 block of West 63rd Street at 2:46 a.m. Police said the man was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by two unknown Black men, one of which was armed. The men demanded the victim hand over his necklace and a struggle ensued. The victim was shot in the hand and the attackers fled on foot. The 29-year-old took himself to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition. Area Central detectives are investigating. No one is in custody.
• A 23-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds while walking at 700 block of South Spaulding at 9:45 a.m. A gunman reportedly approached the victim and began firing shots at him, before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries, Chicago Police said. No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.

February 14, 2019

• A man and a woman were shot early on Thursday on the Kennedy Expressway. Illinois State Police said a shooting was reported on the I-90/94 by the Diversey Avenue at 3:29 a.m. A 19-year-old man suffered two gunshot wounds and was in serious condition at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. A 20-year-old woman was in fair-to-serious condition with a gunshot wound to the leg at the same hospital. No one is in custody while the Illinois State Police investigates.
• Patrol officers came upon an armed 21-year-old male chasing a 30-year-old man in the 7900 block of S. Vincennes at 12:16 a.m. The armed man ran from police, dropping his weapon. Officers eventually placed the man under custody following a brief foot chase. The 30-year-old victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the shoulder and stomach. He was in serious condition. Charges are pending as Area South detectives investigate.
• Two teenage girls suffered gunshot wounds while walking along the sidewalk in the 7300 block of S. Halsted Street at approximately 6:30 p.m. The 16-year-old victim was shot in the right leg, while the 15-year-old victim was shot in the buttocks. Both girls were taken to Comer's Hospital in stable condition. Area South was investigating.
• A 20-year-old woman was shot while walking in the 6000 block of South Maplewood at 10:23 p.m. The woman said she heard the shots and realized she had been struck, but did not see the offender(s) or where the shots came from. The victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was in good condition. No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate the shooting.
• Two men were shot, one fatally, while sitting in a parked vehicle in the 6500 block of North Albany at around 11:30 p.m. A 27-year-old man was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, Chicago Police said. The second victim, a 26-year-old, was shot in the face and was transported to St. Francis Hospital in serious condition. Witnesses told police they heard gunshots and then saw a black Toyota Rav4 flee the scene. No one is in custody. Area North is investigating.

• A 20-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to the arm and the back during a drive-by shooting in the 7400 block of South Dorchester at 7:36 p.m. The victim was sitting in his car when an unknown vehicle drove by and an individual inside fired shots. The victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
• A 34-year-old man was found by police officers with a gunshot wound to the leg in the 4200 block of West Gladys at 8:49 p.m. The man told officers that he did not see his shooter(s) or where the shots came from. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition. Chicago Police said that an unoccupied white Mazda minivan that was left running near the scene was stolen by two individuals. Officers followed the van when the individuals were seen fleeing at fast speeds. The vehicle crashed into a Mitsubishi SUV in the 3800 block of West Harrison. The 57-year-old driver of the SUV declined medical help. The Mazda then crashed into an unoccupied construction trailer at eastbound I-290 and Racine. The driver fled on foot and the passenger was taken into custody. Chicago Police said it was unclear whether the carjackers were involved in the earlier shooting.

• A 37-year-old man was shot in both legs inside a building in the 7100 block of South Sangamon at 12:22 p.m. The man was inside a residence when an unknown offender knocked on the door. The offender shot at the victim when he opened the door. Chicago Police said the victim was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition. No one is in custody as Area South Detectives investigate.
• A 26-year-old man was shot in the foot while standing on the corner in the 3800 block of West Augusta at 4:45 p.m. Chicago Police said the victim was standing when an unknown vehicle approached him and an unknown offender exited the car and shot him. The victim took himself to Norwegian American Hospital, where he was in stable condition. No one is in custody as Area North investigates.
• A 23-year-old man was injured during a dispute in the 6200 block of North Leavitt at around 7:05 p.m. The victim was in an alley when he was approached by an offender, who displayed a handgun and fired shots. The victim was shot in the left thigh and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in stable condition. Chicago Police placed a person of interest into custody as Area North detectives investigate.

• A 30-year-old man was shot in the shoulder when a known gunman entered his vehicle, which was located in the 6400 block of South Mozart, and began shooting at him at around 3:45 p.m. Chicago Police said that the shooter fled the scene in an unknown direction. • A 30-year-old Black man was shot while driving southbound in the 1200 block of South Springfield at 10:29 p.m. Chicago Police said a man exited a dark-colored sedan and fired shots at the victim, striking him in the right ankle. No one is in custody as Area Central investigates.

• A 33-year-old was shot during a drive-by while riding in a vehicle in the 3100 block of West Lexington at 1:49 a.m. Police said an individual in a red sedan fired at the man and struck him in the foot. The victim took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition. Area North detectives are investigating. No one is in custody.
• A 31-year-old man was shot in the back while riding as a passenger in a car in the 5800 block of S. Western at 9:33 a.m. An assailant approached the vehicle and began firing before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in an unknown condition. • A man, believed to be between 18 and 25, was shot while standing outside of his home in the 6600 block of South Harvard Avenue at 4:20 p.m. Authorities said someone approached the victim and shot at him. The victim shot multiple times to his chest, hand and foot, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died. Area South detectives are investigating.
• A 26-year-old man was found shot in the 7000 block of South Cregier Avenue at 8:21 p.m., according to Chicago Police. The victim had gunshot wounds to his face and head. He died at the scene. Police said witnesses claimed to have seen a white sedan drive away, but did not see the shooting. Area Central detectives are investigating. No one is in custody.
• A 16-year-old was shot in the head while waiting at a red light in the 2000 block of South Canalport Avenue at 9:45 p.m. Police said someone in a vehicle pulled up and shot at the teen. After being shot, the victim drove his vehicle into an embankment. The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and later died, police said. Area Central was investigating. No one is in custody.
• A 14-year-old boy was critically injured in the right eye while riding a vehicle in the 2200 block of South Albany Avenue around 1:50 p.m. Chicago Police said that the vehicle was stopped temporarily when a shooter in a passing vehicle shot at the vehicle and struck the boy, who was later transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. Police have not provided a description of the gunman, who fled the scene, or the vehicle. Area Central detectives are investigating. No arrests have been made.
• A 25-year-old woman was shot in the left shoulder in the 8300 block of South Cottage Grove as she was driving around 11:30 a.m. Chicago Police said the woman was driving when a male on foot stepped in front of her car and began shooting. The victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. Area South Detectives are investigating and no arrests have been made.
• A 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were shot during a drive-by shooting in the 6600 block of South Stony Island Avenue at 5:35 a.m. The 22-year-old sustained a graze wound to his head and was taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition. Meanwhile, the 19-year-old was shot in the head and was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition. Area Central detectives are investigating.

• A 26-year-old man was shot while riding a vehicle in the 8300 block of South Burley at 3 a.m. The man was shot in the right side of his body and was transported to St. Bernard Hospital before being transferred to Stroger Hospital, police said. He told investigators he did not see the shooter or the direction the shots came from. Area South detectives are investigating.
• Von Lindsey, 25, was fatally shot while sitting in a vehicle in the 5900 block of West Chicago Avenue at 8 p.m., Chicago Police & the Cook County medical examiner's office said. Lindsey was shot multiple times and was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he died. Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
• A 25-year-old man was shot during a drive-by while sitting in a parked car in the 600 block of North Ridgeway at 11:05 p.m. An individual in a dark SUV reportedly shot at the man and struck him in his right leg and right arm. • A 23-year-old man was shot in his right leg as he was walking on the sidewalk of the 4000 block of West Lake at around 1 p.m. The victim said he heard gunshots and then felt a pain to his leg. He took himself to Stroger Hospital, where he was in stable condition. Area North Detectives are investigating and no one is in custody.
• A 58-year-old woman sustained a graze wound to her hand when three unknown Hispanic males attempted to come into her apartment at around 3:20 p.m. The female victim was with a 54-year-old male at the apartment when they opened the door and found the three unknown men, who tried to push their way in. Police said the men then proceeded to fire several shots through the door. The victim was transported to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition. Area Central detectives are investigating. No one is in custody.

February 7, 2019

• A 28-year-old man was shot while driving westbound on the 400 block of West North Avenue at 12:15 a.m. The man sustained graze wounds to the abdomen and refused medical help. Area North detectives are investigating. No one is in custody.
• A 19-year-old man was shot by someone in a vehicle while walking in the 7700 block of S. Essex Avenue at 12:28 a.m. The victim walked with a wound to his left leg to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. Area South is investigating and no one is in custody.
• A 36-year-old Black man was shot in the left leg while in the 1700 block of Both McVicker Avenue at 2:50 a.m. The victim transported to Community First Medical Center in stable condition. Area North is investigating. No one has been arrested.
• A 16-year-old Hispanic boy was shot while riding as a passenger in a vehicle in the 2800 block of West 35th Street around 3:35 a.m. The shot came from an individual in a dark-colored sedan, police said. Teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the back and was in stable condition. Area Central detectives are investigating. No one is in custody.
• A 19-year-old male was shot in the left thigh in the 2200 block of West Devon at 5:32 p.m. The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in stable condition. Police said he was being uncooperative with authorities. Area North detectives are investigating and no one is in custody.
• A 1-year-old boy was shot in the head while sitting in an SUV with his grandmother and other children in the 9900 block of South Throop in Longwood Manor around 5:30 p.m. The boy, identified by family as Dejohn Irving, was transported to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park before being transferred to Comer's Children's Hospital. He was listed in critical condition. Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said detectives believe that the boy's mother may have been the intended target of the shooting.

February 6, 2019

• Two men, aged 46 and 57, were shot by two Black men while sitting in a parked car at 9:08 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Union. Lawrence B. Lee, 46, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene within an hour of being shot. The other victim suffered a graze wound to his back. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center. Area South is investigating and police have no one is custody.
• Deontae Davenport, 22, was shot and killed during a robbery at 6:05 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Pulaski in the West Side Lawndale neighborhood. Davenport was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition. He was pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m., authorit
