Chihuahua Being 'Dramatic' During Camping Trip Has Internet in Stitches

As a leisure activity, camping certainly isn't for everyone, especially not for one dog who went viral recently after being caught moping around on a family camping vacation.

The viral social media video, which has been viewed more than 776,000 times since it was first shared to TikTok on September 15, captured Rebecca Scott's chihuahua scolding the group's camping holiday from the comfort of his daybed.

"I promise he's just dramatic and he has a very good life," Scott, who goes by @RebeccaScott1996 on TikTok, had captioned the post.

Scott had written across the post: "When you take your chihuahua camping and it's too cold."

The sassy chihuahua, who's called Wilbur, made his disdain for the outdoor activity and the overcast weather clear by holding his scowl for the duration of the video. The social media post has led to plenty of laughter online.

Chihuahuas are known for their feisty temperament and strong character. The American Kennel Club (AKC) describes the breed as being "sassy" on its website.

"Chihuahuas possess loyalty, charm, and big-dog attitude. Even tiny dogs require training, and without it this clever scamp will rule your household like a little Napoleon," the pet registry writes online.

The AKC adds that due to their small size, chihuahuas are not well-suited to colder climates or "rough housing" and that owners should take extra care when temperatures drop. This could explain Wilbur's distaste for his family's camping vacation.

Since it was shared to the social media platform on September 15, the TikTok post has been liked over 106,000 times and commented on by more than 300 people. Plenty of TikTokers have shared their amusement at the viral clip in the post's comments section, while others have recalled their own chihuahuas funny moments.

"My chihuahuas would never allow cosplaying being homeless," one user wrote.

Another user added: "My chihuahua cannot exist outside of his blanket."

"From someone whose had a chihuahua, my only response was this chihuahua needs more then one blanket. mine had three, in the summer as well," a different TikToker shared.

A fourth user commented: "My friends brought their chihuahua camping and she REFUSED to step into their tent. They sat by the car the whole day."
