Kellyanne Conway's Daughter Backs Campaign to Oust Harry Jowsey From 'DWTS'

Claudia Conway, the daughter of former Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, has shown support for a social media campaign to oust Dancing with the Stars contestant Harry Jowsey from his spot on the show.

YouTuber Jowsey, who rose to fame on the Netflix reality show Too Hot to Handle, has continued to compete on ABC's DWTS, despite him and his professional dance partner Rylee Arnold largely landing mediocre scores from the judges.

While judges have been less than impressed with his footwork on the dance floor, it appears that he's proving to be popular with audiences, who have consistently ensured his survival.

But a faction of Taylor Swift fans is now seeking to ensure that Jowsey is voted off the ballroom contest after discovering he follows talent manager Scooter Braun on Instagram.

The music mogul has worked with several big names in the industry over the years, including Usher, Ariana Grande, The Black Eyed Peas, Justin Bieber, and Demi Lovato. Although his client list is impressive, few industry outsiders knew Braun's name until 2019, when his feud with Taylor Swift caught the public's attention.

In 2019, Braun purchased Big Machine Records—Swift's former label—through his business, Ithaca Holdings, for about $330 million. The 33-year-old songstress's first six albums were produced during her time there, but she didn't have ownership rights to the recordings.

By purchasing the label, Braun owned the rights to the albums Taylor Swift (2006), Fearless (2008), Speak Now (2010), Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017).

In a lengthy Tumblr post at the time, Swift called the acquisition a "betrayal" and described Braun's behavior as "manipulative bullying."

"My musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it," Swift wrote. "This is my worst case scenario."

The purchase caused outrage among the singer's devoted fan base, with many speculating that her track "Vigilante S***" is about Braun. Swift announced that she would be using her writing credits to rerecord her first six albums, dubbed "Taylor's Version."

Swift's devoted fans, often referred to as Swifties, proved their distaste for Braun continues to this day as they showed evidence on social media that Jowsey follows him on Instagram. As of press time, Jowsey continues to follow Braun's account.

"Attention Swifties there is a contestant on DWTS who is a Scooter Braun fan and follower," read a November 20 post on X, formerly Twitter. "Please help us get him out by texting 'Charity [Lawson],' 'Jason [Mraz]' or 'Xochitl [Gomez]' to '21523' during the live show."

The post included a screenshot that showed Braun is one of the more than 770 people that Jowsey follows on the platform. In apparent agreement with the post, former American Idol contestant Claudia Conway has liked and reposted it on her timeline, where she has more than 520,000 followers.

Newsweek reached out to representatives of Jowsey and Claudia Conway via email for comment.

In a video posted to TikTok earlier this month, Jowsey addressed his continued survival on DWTS despite his low scores from the judges.

"I think the main thing that people need to understand is it's not a dance competition. It's a TV show," he said, in part. "If it was a dance competition, I would have been gone Week 1, for sure. But because it's a TV show, you guys call the shots on who stays and who goes."

Claudia Conway has liked and interacted with a host of DWTS posts in the two months since the current season kicked off. In showing her support for Swift, Claudia Conway on July 7 posted a screenshot of a text exchange in which her mother excitedly informed of the release of a Swift album.

Her mother, Kellyanne Conway, is a former pollster who rose to national prominence as the manager of Trump's successful 2016 presidential campaign, later transitioning to a senior adviser role in the Trump White House. She has also developed a reputation as a Trump media surrogate, known for defending his many claims and stances across various news outlets.

Claudia Conway, her daughter with ex-husband and Lincoln Project co-founder George Conway emerged in 2020 as a vocal critic of Trump and his presidency, despite her mother's positions.

Around the time she first began publicly speaking out against former President Trump in 2020, Claudia Conway also hinted at turmoil in her relationship with her parents, claiming at the time to be "officially pushing for emancipation."

In the summer of 2021, Claudia Conway revealed in a TikTok post that she was on good terms with her mother, despite their political differences.
