Trevor Lawrence is the leader of the No. 1 college football team in the country and the frontrunner in the 2020 Heisman Trophy race. On Thursday night, it was announced that Lawrence has tested positive for COVID-19. This comes just two days ahead of the team's home game against Boston College.
Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney confirmed Thursday night that Lawrence has experienced "mild symptoms" and that the quarterback is in isolation. Swinney also said Lawrence will not be available for the Boston College game.
The news broke Thursday night by Mike Garafalo of the NFL Network.

Clemson (6-0) is No. 1 in just about every poll in the country, including Newsweek, Associated Press and the Coaches Poll.
Lawrence is in his third year starting for the Tigers. He took over the job midway through his freshman year and led Clemson to a 15-0 record and national championship for the 2018 season. He led the Tigers back to the national championship game last season, only to fall to LSU—his only collegiate loss.
Clemson is scheduled to host Boston College at noon this Saturday. Lawrence is averaging 305.5 passing yards per game this season, and he has thrown for 1,833 yards and 17 touchdowns through six games. He has also rushed for 143 yards and four touchdowns.
Lawrence is projected to be a No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
