Tell-All Author Shares Trump Photos After President Calls Him 'Gofer' and Claims He 'Hardly Knew' Him

President Donald Trump attempted to discredit former White House aide Cliff Sims's tell-all book about the Trump administration today, claiming he "hardly knew" him and that "he pretended to be an insider when in fact he was nothing more than a gofer."

"A low level staffer that I hardly knew named Cliff Sims wrote yet another boring book based on made up stories and fiction," the president tweeted on Tuesday morning. "He pretended to be an insider when in fact he was nothing more than a gofer. He signed a non-disclosure agreement. He is a mess!"

Shortly after, Sims fired back at Trump, ridiculing his comments with multiple photos posted to Twitter that showed himself and the president during their time together working in the White House. "Team of Vipers: My 500 Extraordinary Days in the Trump White House is out today, written by the most famous 'gofer' in the world! Enjoy!," Sims wrote.

Alongside the ex-White House aide's post were photos that showed Sims walking next to Trump, he and the president meeting with top White House officials inside the Oval Office, as well as an image of a Trump-autographed New York Times newspaper featuring the Republican Party's 2017 tax cut bill. "Cliff, great job! Thanks," Trump scribbled in black marker on the paper's front page.

Sim's tell-all book, Team of Vipers: My 500 Extraordinary Days in the Trump White House, hit bookstores today. It is the latest in a series of tell-all books penned by former Trump aides and insiders detailing the inner workings, chaos and dysfunction inside the president's unconventional administration. Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci, Trump's former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and his former political aide Omarosa Manigault have all contributed to the fast-growing sub-genre.

Team of Vipers describes Trump's administration as "completely out of control" and details controversial aspects of the former businessman's administration. The president has called the account "boring" and claimed it is "based on made up stories and fiction."

Despite this, Trump's campaign announced on Tuesday that it is preparing to sue Sims for violating a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) through the book's publication. "The Trump campaign is preparing to file suit against Cliff Sims for violating our NDA," Michael Glassner, the executive director of Trump's campaign committee, tweeted.

Trump has typically attacked those who have written unfavorable accounts of his time as president. When Manigault released her book Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House, the president called his former aide a "dog" and a "crazed, crying lowlife."
