Sci-fi prog metal band Coheed and Cambria is teaming up with Mastodon for "The Unheavenly Skye Tour." "The Unheavenly Skye Tour" gets its name from a combination of Coheed and Cambria's latest album "Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures" and Mastodon's landmark 2009 heavy metal album "Crack the Skye," which will be performed in its entirety.
Coheed and Cambria's latest album, often shortened to "The Unheavenly Creatures," came out in October of 2018. The concept album follows the sprawling sci-fi narrative, The Armory Wars, written by frontman Claudio Sanchez and also available in comic book form from Evil Ink Comics. The 15 track-album follows an Armory Wars novella co-written by Sanchez and his wife, Chondra Echert.
Coheed and Cambria and Mastodon will be joined by hardcore band Every Time I Die.
