A black boy who a white woman accused of groping her is innocent, surveillance footage shows.

In the video obtained by the New York Post, Teresa Klein can be seen standing at the counter to pay for items at the Sahara Deli Markey in Flatbush, New York, when the boy, wearing a school uniform and backpack and carrying a plastic bag, passes her.

The boy's bag appears to brush against Klein as he passes, and she reacts by turning round and starting to yell at the boy and his family.

In footage of the confrontation between Klein and the boy's mother that went viral this week, Klein can be heard calling police while the boy and his sister cry.

"I want the cops here right now!" Klein says on her phone. "The son grabbed my ass, and she decided to yell at me."

After bystanders remonstrate with her, Klein is heard saying sarcastically into the phone, "White woman calling the cops on a black lady, I get it."

"The son grabbed my a--, and she's decided to yell at me," she tells emergency services.

Other customers can be heard confronting Klein, with one woman telling her, "Nobody wants to touch your flat ass."

Klein continues speaking into the phone, saying, "I've been sexually assaulted by a child."

On social media, people criticized Klein for her response, dubbing her "Cornerstone Carol," after the mocking monikers given to other white women who have been filmed falsely accusing black people of crimes, such as 'Permit Patty' or 'BBQ Becky.'

As a of Saturday, a video of the confrontation posted on Facebook had gained 5 million views, with thousands criticizing Klein for her response.

In an interview with the Post, Klein apologized to the boy and his sister, but not to their mother.

"I would like to apologize to her daughter and her son but not to her. She could have walked away, but she didn't. I'm also a Buddhist, [but] I let my temper show," Klein said.

"I've been called racist before, and I'm not."
