Raunchy Polyamorous Dating Show 'Couple to Throuple' Sparks Mockery

Love is potentially in the air for a group of couples who want to take their relationship to the next level in a new reality show called Couple to Throuple.

A trailer for the unique show that will be broadcast on Peacock dropped on Tuesday. It shows several couples wanting to explore the idea of having polyamorous relationships, and the audience's reaction has been priceless.

Spread out over 10 episodes starting on February 8, the 2-minute 10 second trailer opens with Access Hollywood's Scott Evans as the host saying: "If you were given a chance at non-monogamy, in paradise, what would you do?"

The show's premise will give four "curious couples" the space to explore their relationship where "every few days they will invite one of 14 open-minded singles to throuple up with them in the resort."

The trailer for Couple to Throuple has

Snippets of the contestants speaking are shown in the clip, with onlookers hearing lines such as "I have never been on a date with three people," "Can we get some lube," and "I keep having these uncontrollable boners." All of which have become talking points online by those who have digested the trailer.

At the time this article was published, it had been viewed over 180,000 times by social media users on X, formerly Twitter.

It didn't take long for spectators to share their thoughts on the Peacock original show.

"This is either Peacock giving explicit evidence that it knows exactly how boners work or evidence that it has absolutely no idea how boners work," a viewer questioned.

Another said: "This is Messyyy, excuse me while I sign up."

Peacock account numbers might spike as a third shared: "It's gonna be so embarrassing when this ends up being the reason I get a Peacock account."

It hit the right spot on the reality TV Richter scale for some, with one user writing: "This is so gutter... and I will be tuning in," as another said: "When people say they were born in the wrong generation, I can't relate. I was born to watch TV like this."

One TV owner could not wait for the show to start, writing: "Seated and ready," with a second adding: "Uncontrollable Boners' now that's a dating show I would watch."

"I'm more intrigued by the idea that there's a controllable boner," joked a viewer.

The online reaction was a mixture of disbelief, disgust, and intrigue.

It appeared that numerous social media users wanted to watch it as it was like nothing they had seen before, while others blasted it for being "toxic" and "horrible."

Statements such as: "What an absolutely horrible, disgusting, and toxic idea for a show...," "This is horrible," and "We've lost the plot" were among the negative feedback seen.

One viewer losing hope in TV said: "I'm so tired of s***** a** reality television," and another pondered: "Who asked for this?"

The couples will be helped along the way by sex and relationship expert Shamyra Howard, and if the explosive trailer, which shows a chair being thrown into a pool, blindfolds, tears, and a lot of kissing, is anything to go by, they will definitely need it.

In the trailer, Howard tells the contestants: "I am going to test your threshold by watching your partner get intimate with your chosen third."

As the comes to an end, contestants will decide if they want to leave as a throuple, in the couple they entered the show with, or separately.
