Dachshund Turns Music on, Starts 'Singing' as Mom Puts Baby to Sleep

All dogs can be spoiled and stubborn, no matter their breed or age, but dachshunds in particular are notorious for taking their antics to the next level.

A dachshund owner has left the internet in stitches after revealing what her pup, Noah, did while she tried to get her baby to fall asleep. In a video shared on TikTok on Wednesday, under the username noah_the_sausage, the pup, can be seen turning on his owner's speaker and singing his heart out along with the music, while his owner tries to make her baby fall asleep.

The hilarious clip comes with a caption that explains: "I'm trying to put the baby to sleep and this mf turns on music and starts singing." Followed by: "Tell me you have a dachshund without telling me you have a dachshund."

The poster told Newsweek that Noah was born on October 23, 2022, and became an addition to her family just before that Christmas.

"Since then he has brought us endless amounts of love and laughter," she said. "He is very charismatic and definitely the main character, a true dachshund. We describe him as a rebellious teenager with a heart of gold.

"The way to his heart? Bottomless cuddles and treats of all kinds. He is the dog we didn't know we needed and we couldn't be happier to have him in our lives."

Dachshunds are known for being particularly stubborn, and experts at PetKeen have come up with a few theories as to why.

These little dogs were initially bred to hunt prey, this means they had to face some ferocious animals too. According to PetKeen they can "easily face porcupines, badgers, and other animals without batting an eyelid."

While this may be the reason why they're not afraid to disobey orders, it could also be that they lack training, or don't see you as an authoritative figure. Other reasons may be that they're misunderstanding your cues, or that you don't give them enough incentives.

One user, I am Just Jai, commented: "The howling actually made the song even better. What song is this?" And Chelsea Garner said: "The look of pure menace he gave you while the song was loading up was such dachshund BS right there."

Charlee wrote: "Love how they were the back up singer, not taking anything away from the main artist, beautiful." And baileefox13 said: "We can't play show yourself from frozen in our house because our dachshund will never stop singing."

Jessica Lawlor added: "That Whoooo-no was my favourite part, sang right after 'turn it off."

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 2.9 million views and 386,400 likes on the platform.
