'Daredevil' Season 3 Will Introduce Bullseye: Report

There hasn't been a lot of news regarding Daredevil Season 3 , but a new report has the archenemy of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen joining the cast of the Marvel-Netflix series.

According to That Hashtag Show, Wilson Bethel will play Bullseye, Daredevil's most recognizable villain. Variety confirmed back in November that the Hart of Dixie alum would join Daredevil Season 3 as " an FBI agent who will play a critical role in the conflict between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk."

If that description doesn't sound like Bullseye, That Hashtag Show points out that Netflix and Marvel could be drawing Bullseye's origins from the Punisher MAX comic run. Writer Jason Aaron reimagined Bullseye' as Sheldon Pendergrass, a skilled marksman.

Fans of the comics know Bullseye as Lester or Benjamin Poindexter, an assassin for hire who's had multiple run-ins with Daredevil at the behest of The Kingpin. Daredevil and Bullseye's lives have always been intertwined in the comics: the assassin killed Elektra, Daredevil's love interest. Daredevil killed Bullseye in another storyline, before it was revealed that Matt Murdock was possessed by a demonic entity.

Daredevil Season 3 does not have a release date, but will likely follow Matt and Elektra from the end of The Defenders series, which saw Elektra resurrected but seemingly killed in a cave in with Murdock. Later, Matt wakes up in a bed in the middle of nowhere.

Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin, was last seen in Daredevil Season 2, where he was incarcerated with Frank Castle, The Punisher. Fisk became the "kingpin" of the prison and got Castle out. Judging from Bethel's casting, Daredevil Season 3 will pit Daredevil and Kingpin against each other once again.

What do you think of Bullseye being cast for Daredevil Season 3? Which iteration of the character do you hope to see in the show? Let us know in the comments section below.
