Former 'Teen Mom 2' Star David Eason Plans to Plant Confederate Flag in 'All 50 States'

David Eason wants to plant Confederate flag all across America. The husband of Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans teased plans to travel across the country with the same flag he recently caught backlash for after posing with it in an Instagram picture.

In a new series of photos, Eason proudly holds his flag while posing in the Grand Canyon. "Just planting my flag in all 50 states! #merica #rebel," he wrote alongside a trio of snapshots.

Despite the outrage, Eason explained to fans his love of the flag had nothing to do with its racist history but rather was a representation of his roots. "It's just where I'm from, my heritage," he wrote in response to a fan asking what the flag meant to him.

"Kind of like when people fly a flag that represents their state because it's where they are from," he continued. "If someone think [sic] it has to do with racism or slave [sic] they aren't thinking enough. Most racist people fly the beloved American flag, which was the flag flying on the American slave ships…No concern there?"

Evans supported her husband's adornment of the flag and seemingly egged him on to share more of his flag-baring photoshoot. "Lmao you need to post that video," she wrote in Eason's comments.

Eason made headlines for posting an image of himself wrapped up in the flag—as if it were a blanket—back in October. The MTV reality star was criticized by followers almost instantly for supporting and promoting the Confederacy on his social media, and some fans suggested Eason was racist.

Eason was fired from Teen Mom 2 earlier this year after he posted a series of homophobic tweets, in which he called gay and transgender people as "abominations." He deleted the tweets but not before screenshots of the messages surfaced online. MTV released a statement in March announcing Eason's removal from the cast despite the six weeks of filming remaining for the show.
