'Destiny 2: Forsaken' Engram Loot Box Rates Released

Bungie just released the odds for item drops in the Eververse shop. If you've been one of the many people to slap down real money for Destiny 2 cosmetics, you know how fickle these loot boxes can be. There's nothing worse than spending all your hard-earned milk money on a few Bright Engrams, just to get a few shaders and an emote you already have.

Countries like South Korea and Belgium have already started to enact laws to limit the the plague that is loot boxes. Game companies are starting to post the odds inside their boxes to limit the moral and legal ramifications of selling random items to players.

In Season 4, Bungie is selling two different types of cosmetics you can buy with silver (Destiny 2's premium currency.) Prismatic Matrixes and Bright Engrams. Duplicates of scoped items, like accessories, emotes and weapon skins, will not appear, making you feel a bit safer when throwing down that cash. Exotics, the rarest items in the game, will only appear six percent of the time. I hope you don't have to buy 100 loot boxes just to get that Coldheart skin.

When you have a long string of bad luck and only find common shaders, Destiny 2 notices. The longer you go without getting a cosmetic or consumable, your chance of getting something nice increases. Like Hearthstone packs giving players a Legendary if they haven't seen one in 50-or-so packs, Destiny players have a bit of insurance when it comes to opening Engrams.
