Detroit Lions Roast Bryan Cranston With Two Words

Bryan Cranston has had his Breaking Bad character thrown back at him by the Detroit Lions after he supported a rival team.

Sporting a Los Angeles Rams cap, Cranston was seen in a video supporting the Rams during their recent match against the Lions on Monday at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The clip was shared by the official NFL account on X, formerly Twitter. In it, the star showed how proud he is of his team by saying, "Go Rams!" However, his pride took a hit when the Lions came out on top.

So far, the video had been viewed over 6.5 million times. With the Lions winning 24-23, the victors shared an image of Cranston's award-winning character to hit back at him for supporting the wrong team. Newsweek has contacted the Detroit Lions via their website and Bryan Cranston's publicist via email for comment.

Sharing an image of his iconic Breaking Bad character, Walter White, with his shaved head, goatee, and glasses, the Lions used a powerful scene from the show to gloat.

The image was captioned "I won." It mimicked what happened in the multiseason show in the scene where White is on the phone to his wife, saying, "I won," while telling her he killed one of his enemies.

Fans of the Lions loved the joke at the actor's expense, with it receiving hundreds of comments and thousands of reshares and saves. It didn't take long for the team behind the post to receive praise.

"Early candidate for tweet of the year. A+," a social-media user wrote, while another wrote: "This is how you do SOCIAL MEDIA."

Referencing how White would cook drugs in the show, a supporter added, "ADMIN U ARE COOKING," with a third commenting, "Social gold."

"ADMINS COOKED," "Lions social media some savages," and "Most likable team in the NFL right now" were among the compliments shared online.

The NFL video was posted before the match got underway, and the star was seen head to waist, at least, in Rams merchandise. Cranston was kitted out not only with the cap but also in a blue Rams jacket and scarf with facial hair, though not quite the full White goatee look.

Smiling, he said at the start of the video: "Bryan Cranston here on the sidelines of the Lions vs the Rams.

"Just like in the wildlife when rams see lions out and about, they think 'You know? They look friendly.' Go Rams!"

A few fans didn't quite recognize the star, with Breaking Bad concluding in 2012, and asked who was in the video. It wasn't until the memes and references started to come in that they linked the protagonist from the crime drama to the man in the video.
