As English singer Ella Mai releases her highly-anticipated self-titled debut album Friday, fans are entranced by her ongoing drama with fellow R&B artist Jacquees after she allegedly blocked him on Instagram amid the pair's remix scandal.

Fans of the feuding singers took to Twitter to discuss a since-deleted tweet, or potentially Photoshopped moment, that apparently showed Jacquees speaking about being blocked by Mai on Instagram. According to a screenshot from The Jasmine Brand, Jacquees allegedly tweeted: "Shawty blocked me on ig...damn this shit serious ain't it?"

Jacquees' doesn't directly mention Mai by name, but fans assumed it was likely about the English talent due to her previous beef with him. They hit Twitter to speak on the newest facet of the pair's feud.

"Jacquees is still talking about Ella Mai like damn," one user tweeted. "That's her song she can feel how sheee-EEE-eee-EEE wants."

Another fan said Mai's apparent blocking was "funny" before suggesting Jacquees would probably start "remixing" their photos "pretty soon." A third person deemed Jacquees to be "annoying" before adding how they were "glad he got blocked."

"Can't get over how childish Ella Mai is you know. I'm a huge fan of her music & everything but she didn't have to do Jacquees like that," another fan wrote via Twitter. "At first I thought it was just her management, but blocking him on IG was hella corny. Essentially, he was just a fan covering ya song."

The beef between Mai and Jacquees first surfaced in September. Jacquees unveiled his version of Mai's "Trip" on September 1, but he was made to take it down from YouTube and SoundCloud on September 26 as it began to gain traction. Some fans thought Mai wanted Jacquees's rendition, which hit the internet days ahead of her debut album's release, to be pulled because it was preferred over the original version by some.

After Jacquees's "Trip" was removed from the internet, many fans criticized both Mai and her label 10 Summers/Interscope. DJ Mustard, who signed Mai to his label 10 Summers, refuted allegations that Mai sent a cease and desist to Jacquees.

"Our artists don't send cease and desists, we do. When you monetize content you don't own you are stealing and no one steals from 10 Summers," DJ Mustard wrote via Twitter. "Ella had no say in the matter and any platform reporting any differently is spreading falsities."

Added Mustard, "This is simply a press or marketing plan, or some strategy to deviate from the narrative that Ella is breaking records left and right because the music she's making is cutting through straight to fans at a rate people haven't seen in years."

Mustard did, however, share how 10 Summers will "support" fans of Mai "doing covers" of her music since that's how the British singer got started as well.

In a statement to Billboard in September, representatives for Jacquees ' insisted there were no hard feelings.

"We love Ella and are cool with her team as well," Jacquees's team told Billboard. "He has been releasing not only Quemix songs but entire projects with remixes of other artists' songs ranging back to 2013. This was an act of genuine support and should not turn into negativity for either of the artist or from their supporters."
