Police say he used a dating app to arrange to meet someone he believed was a 13-year-old to sexually abuse them—but in reality was communicating with a police officer.

Police did not disclose the name of the app.

Salt Lake City Police say he was on his way to meet the person he believed to be the minor on December 13 when he was arrested.

Police have accused him of asking the person he believed to be a minor to engage in sex acts, and sending pornographic images of male genitalia and of men having anal sex, reported ABC7.

He also allegedly attempted to solicit nude pictures from the minor.

He is being in a Salt Lake City jail on a $30,000 bond, according to jail records.

According to IMDB, Westmoreland has acted in 38 episodes of Andi Mack between 2017 and 2018. It is one of the top rated children's dramas on television,

On Saturday, Westmoreland was fired from the Disney network.

"Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week," spokeswoman Patty McTeague said in a statement.
