Disneyland's Spider-Man Stunt Fails in Front of Crowd in Viral Video

A Spider-Man stunt performed in front of a crowd at Disneyland California Adventure Park last week went hilariously wrong, leaving online commenters in hysterics.

A video of the stunt fail was posted to Instagram on June 9 by Darren L. (@mdglee_szm). It has amassed more than 144,000 views and prompted hundreds of jokes from viewers.

In the video, the animatronic Spider-Man flies into the air over the Avengers Campus.

"Here goes nothing," narrated the attraction's soundtrack as Spidey took flight.

According to multiple reports, the faux hero was supposed to swing through the air and land atop a building. Instead, the robot in Darren's video smashes into the building and lands on the ground somewhere behind the stunt area.

Despite the Spider-Man being "fake," several audience members couldn't help but gasp as they watched the animatronic hero's unexpected crash.

"Another happy landing?" Darren jokingly asked in his post's caption.

The show briefly closed as a result of the malfunction. However, Darren told viewers that it reopened later that day.

Many commenters loved the video, stating it was hysterical.

"I'm wheezing," said oliviakorsah.

"Lmao I can imagine all the kids screaming, 'he's dead,'" wrote boblong3956.

"Poor Peter that's karma for breaking the spell," joked deadpoolgunner7, a reference to the plot of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

"Bruh that's incredible. I'd pay to see that," commented jakeorwhatever.

"Omg I can't stop laughing!!!!!!!!" exclaimed brucekraftjr.

That being said, not everyone thought the malfunction was funny.

"And people pay to watch this," wrote yamaboarder.

Amber.cherie added: "Makes sense. @disneyland @disneyparks aren't being maintained or cleaned anymore."

As it turns out, Amber wouldn't be the first to speak out on the overall cleanliness of the Dinsey parks. Last year, TikToker James LeMay shared a video showing Walt Disney World covered in trash, sparking a viral discussion about the park's "labor shortage."

And according to Inside The Magic, a popular theme park blog, several guests have taken to Reddit's "Disney Parks" forum in recent months to complain about the state of the park, saying the overall cleanliness has "gone downhill."

True or not, these complaints haven't affected park attendance. In fact, Forbes said Disneyland "overhauled its annual pass program to help manage crowds." Additionally, the park increased its ticket prices in April, which is a good indicator that attendance is high.

"The cost to visit Disneyland for two days (visiting one park each day) went up by $20 to $255, and the price for a two-day ticket that allows guests to 'park hop' from one theme park to another went up by $25 to $315," Forbes relayed. "Disney's ticket prices are increasing faster than the rate of inflation."
