Dog's Hilarious Behavior on Walks Ends Up Inspiring Baby's First Word

Kids absorb everything around them as they learn about the world, and believe it or not, pets can also impact them.

A family's dog is no stranger to internet fame as he's been melting hearts for years with his unique jumping while going on walks. But now, Rupert has made a lasting impression on the family's newest addition.

A January 28 TikTok video posted by user @molly__wi shows the couple going on walks with both Rupert and their baby. As usual, Rupert hopped his way down the street with the baby watching. Since babies are sponges, the little one picked up on Rupert's actions and what his parents called it, and naturally, jump became the baby's first word.

The caption read: "Although I'm pretty sure Ted thinks Rupert's name is Jump."

Like any parent, they wanted to hear their baby's first word again and again. It became a song between the baby and his parents as all three kept going back and forth saying the word jump.

"We thought it was so adorable," the mom told Newsweek. "It's deffo still his favorite word now."

The bond between Rupert and the baby is already strong. If jump being the baby's first word after watching Rupert wasn't enough, the mom said the two are the best of friends. A separate video shows the two playing, looking out the window and snuggling together.

Soon enough, these two besties are jumping down the street together, hand in paw. Hopefully, the baby will realize Rupert's name is not Jump before then.

How Viewers Reacted

The precious TikTok video reached over 1.7 million views, 170,300 likes and 136 comments as of Wednesday. People fell in love with both the dog's jumps and the perfect first word for the baby.

"This is how you wind up with a lifelong dog lover. My first word was 'Dog' lol," said one viewer. And once you start living with dogs, you can't stop.

Another comment read: "I already couldn't handle how cute Rupert is and then your son was just as cute saying his first words. Blessings y'all."

"Sir, that is not only a dog but a kangaroo as well," joked a third user.
