Hearts Melt at McDonald's Worker Reaction When Dog Who Loves Her Turns Up

A video of a dog showing her love for a McDonald's worker who has had a "rough day" has gone viral on TikTok.

The moment was captured in a video post shared on December 11 by Maceon McCracken (@maceon.mccracken), a realtor based in Cornelius, a town in North Carolina, according to the video. The full footage from this moment was shared a year ago, as noted in the caption shared in the latest post.

The latest video shows a woman sitting in a car at a McDonald's drive-through. A dog called Wynonna is seen poking her head through the car window while getting a treat from a McDonald's worker at the drive-through counter.

The worker later says: "I'm so glad you came today. I've been having a really rough day but your doggy is making me happy."

According to later comments from the poster, the employee stills works at that McDonald's venue in Huntersville located near a Target store. "She usually works weekday lunchtime! Her name's Shannon and she loves when doggies come visit!"

Research has shown that interacting with dogs can have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing.

A March 2021 study in Frontiers in Veterinary Science noted that "interacting with a dog can have stress reducing impacts in the biological realm such as decreased cortisol [hormone that regulates your body's response to stress], heart rate, and blood pressure, and increases in oxytocin [hormone that promotes positive feelings].

"In the psychological realm, stress reduction can be a driver of immediate improvements in self-report measures of stress, mood, and anxiety and more delayed improvements in overall mental health and quality of life," the study added.

'The Power of a Kind Word'

The woman in the latest video is shown making a food order from her car at the drive-through venue, with her dog seated next to her. The woman says: "She [her dog] loves the McDonald's drive-through."

The car moves forward to the pick-up area and a voice is heard saying "hey baby" through the window. The dog is shown poking her head through the window as she's given a treat by the worker, according to a message overlaid on the clip.

The woman in the car says: "We came to this McDonald's just to see you. We live in Cornelius now...we came down just to see you cuz' she loves it so much. I'm sorry you're having a bad day.

The worker replies: "It's okay, thank you so much. But seeing her [the dog] makes me happy."

In a caption shared with the original post shared a year ago, the poster wrote: "This is why it's so important to be nice to everyone. You never know what people are going through or what kind of day they're having. This McDonalds worker brings in their own dog treats to give out and is always so happy. It broke my heart to see them upset today. I'm glad Wynonna could brighten their day a bit."

Several users on TikTok were moved by the moment shared in the latest viral post.

Jackie Laura wrote: "Never underestimate the power of a kind word or gesture. You and Wynonna made a difference and raised her spirits."

The BabyGirl noted: "This is so heartwarming

MissLoufromKalamazoo said: "That is so sweet."
