Dolly Parton Spreads Her Magic to Pets With 'Doggy Parton' Line

Dolly Parton's newest business venture has allowed the country music singer to spread her joy and style to the animal kingdom with a line of pet toys and accessories.

The new pet accessory line, called Doggy Parton and released on Wednesday, features pink cowgirl hats, microphone chew toys, gingham dresses and bandanas, bedazzled collars and even blonde "bombshell" wigs for your favorite furry one.

"'Puppy Love' was my very first record and six decades later, my love for pets is stronger than ever," Parton said in a video announcing the collection. "This inspired me to start my own line of Doggy Parton apparel, accessories, toys and more with a little 'Dolly' flair. Part of the proceeds will support Willa B Farms, a rescue where animals in need find never-ending love. Don't we all need that?"

The face of the brand is none other than Parton's god-dog, Billy the Kid, a French bulldog owned by Dolly's longtime manager, Danny Nozell.

A video of Parton blow-drying Billy's long, blonde locks paired with the Queen of Nashville's 1973 single "I Will Always Love You" announced the new collection on Instagram.

"I will always love you, Dolly Mama 💘 Thank you for my @doggyparton wig and accessories," the caption read.

Nozell told People magazine in 2020 that Parton and Billy the Kid were nearly inseparable when they first met. "Dolly is like a mother to me. She laid eyes on Billy and told me that I couldn't give this dog to any more ex-girlfriends—he would have to go to her!" said Nozell.

Fans of Parton are eager to begin shopping from the Doggy Parton collection. Twitter user Jarett Wieselman wrote, "I need you all to know that I am buying the Blonde Bombshell Wig Headpiece for my dog."

Other Twitter users were delighted by the Doggy Parton announcement. User @JustSpitballing wrote, "Yep. I can love Dolly more. Who would have thought it was possible."

"Cannot stress how much I *need* this dog wig from Dolly's new Doggy Parton collection," user @speeeena wrote.

While the website is not yet live, the line has an Amazon storefront open for shopping, and features several more photos of Billy the Kid modeling a few of the best pieces from the collection.

Parton has long been an animal lover and wildlife activist, winning a Partnership Award from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 2003 for her work helping to conserve the bald eagle population and her work with the Dogs Deserve Better organization.

The "Jolene" singer is famously known for many of her philanthropic contributions. In 2020, she donated $1 million to a COVID vaccine trial that ended up being the highly successful Moderna vaccine, and many people last December pushed for Parton to be named Time's Person of the Year.
