Donald Trump Ignores Own Grandson at Event, Video Appears to Show

Footage of Donald Trump appearing to ignore his grandson at a UFC match is going viral.

The 77-year-old was flanked by UFC president Dana White as he walked into the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, on Saturday. In the clip shared to X, formerly Twitter, the former president greets fans while Kid Rock's "American Badass" roars over the speakers.

Spotting his daughter Ivanka Trump, the Republican politician pulls her in for a hug before shaking hands with her husband Jared Kushner. However, as his grandson begins to move towards him, Trump walks away, leaving the child looking dejected.

As the business mogul continues to address the crowd, Ivanka can be seen over his shoulder. However, her grin quickly turns to a scowl as she comforts her son.

Since being posted by Meidas Touch Editor and Trump critic Ron Filipkowski on Tuesday, the clip has received over 80,000 views.

Newsweek has reached out to Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump for comment via email.

The Context

Trump sat cageside with the Kushners during UFC 299 after making a surprise appearance. The politician was greeted warmly by the crowd, with attendees appearing to shout "F*** Joe Biden" during the event.

The real estate magnate has attended several UFC fights in recent years, often with celebrity fan Kid Rock.

Trump traveled from Rome, Georgia, to watch the bantamweight fight between Sean O'Malley and Marlon Vera, following his rally that morning.

The Republican hit out at his Democratic rival Joe Biden in his speech, with the pair presumptive candidates in the 2024 general election.

Trump blasted the president for getting murder victim Laken Riley's name wrong during his State of the Union address on Thursday, after he called her "Lincoln Riley."

Venezuelan migrant José Antonio Ibarra, believed to be in the country illegally, has been charged in relation to her death, with Trump blaming Biden's border policy for her killing.

The Views

Alongside the video of Trump, Filipkowski wrote: "Now I see what Ivanka was so p*****. Trump blew off his own grandson while he was mugging with B List celebrities and the kid was pretty bummed out.

"This is who he really is behind the fake show."

In the comments, Filipkowski added a photo of a seemingly unhappy Ivanka standing cageside, captioning the image: "Here is Ivanka after Trump ignored her son."

X users had plenty to say about the clip, with @bostonteapartyd writing: "Family values on full display."

"Damn Donald, that was pretty cold," commented Cooper.

"This is the kind of thing that kids remember," said @MacyBuckner.

"And that's the grandson from the kid he actually *likes*," wrote Jay Black.

"Family is only important to Trump, when they are useful to further his power. Poor kid...," said Ramon Caudle.

However, others defended The Apprentice star, criticizing Biden's alleged treatment of granddaughter Navy Joan Roberts.

The president's son, Hunter Biden, was revealed to be the father of 4-year-old Roberts in July following a paternity lawsuit, with Joe Biden publicly acknowledging his seventh grandchild for the first time following the DNA test results.

"Oh please...He knows his grandfather loves him unlike Biden that refused to acknowledge Navy!" said KatRozza.

KatRozza wasn't the only user to bring up the case, with @Emilio2763 writing: "Now Do Joe Biden Ignoring He Even Had a Grandchild Till He Was Forced To Admit It."
