Donald Trump's Golf Handicap Compared to Other Celebrities

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has often boasted about his golfing skills, recently claiming to have won two prestigious tournaments.

While Trump's prowess on the golf course has often been called into question, there's no doubt he loves talking about his skills.

Most recently he claimed to have won two tournaments at his own Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach in Florida.

Trump took to his Truth Social website to let his fans know about his success.

"It is my great honor to be at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach tonight, AWARDS NIGHT, to receive THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY & THE SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. I WON BOTH!" Trump posted on Sunday.

"A large and golfing talented membership, a GREAT and difficult course, made the play very exciting. The qualifying and match play was amazing. A large and distinguished group will be there tonight. Very exciting, thank you!!!"

The presumed 2024 GOP presidential nominee competed in the tournaments in mid-March and a video of him playing was shared to Trump Golf's official Instagram account.

"Congratulations to @realdonaldtrump on winning the Club Championship at @trumpgolfpalmbeach, his third win this year alone following the Senior and Super Senior Championships. Absolutely incredible!" the caption read.

Ability is ranked on a handicap system, which is a numerical measure of a golfer's skill, or potential ability and is used to allow players of different levels to compete against one another, according to golfing website, Stix. The United States Golf Association is responsible for the calculation and evaluation of golf handicaps.

The highest possible handicap is 54, and while the system does not apply to professional golfers, it is estimated that their average is about 5.4, while some of the best to play, such as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, have a handicap of around 8.3 and 8.1 respectively.

A lower handicap indicates a more skilled golfer.

Trump, who owns 17 golf courses, is not the only U.S. president or famous face to enjoy a round of golf, but how does his game stack up against others?

Donald Trump—2.8

Trump's handicap is self-reported and he golfed approximately every 4.2 days while serving as president.

Barack Obama—13

The first left-handed president to play golf while in office has an "honest" handicap of 13, according to the Southern California Golf Association (SGCA).

President Joe Biden—6.3

In October 2015, Golf Digest reported Biden as having a 6.3 handicap.

Condoleezza Rice—11.6

The former secretary of state was one of the first women to become a member of the Augusta National Golf Club.

George W. Bush—15

The huge golf fan was reported by The Washington Post to have sunk his first hole-in-one in 2019.

Bill Clinton—12

Clinton admitted to the rare feat of improving his handicap while in office.

Michael Jordan—1.9

The Chicago Bulls legend has long been a golf lover and, while impressive, his game on the course is no match for his basketball skills.

Justin Timberlake—1.0

When he is not singing, dancing or apologizing for the many controversies in his career, Timberlake loves hitting the golf course.

Clint Eastwood—24.6

A Hollywood legend, Eastwood is probably so good at golf because he owns his own course, the Tehama Golf Club in California.

Kevin Costner—11.6

The Tin Cup movie star has not updated his handicap in a while, but it's still likely to be pretty good.

Bill Murray—7

The actor starred in the iconic golf movie Caddyshack and obviously learned a thing or two from that role.
